Chris Resop Promoted From Minors
According to his agent, Chris Resop will be in an "Atlanta" Braves uniform for tonight's game, but there is no news as to who will be sent down. My fingers are crossed for Jesse Chavez to be sent packing.

Don't be a fool, Bob. Send. Chavez. Down.
this would plug up the few remaining leaks

I don't really get all the Chavez hate,
at least as it relates to this decision. Does everyone really think he’s worse than Christhian Martinez? Martinez needs to be the one sent down.
Now, if we were to replace Chavez with Mike Dunn, that would make me happy. But he’s not the worst pitcher in the ‘pen right now. Everyone has gotten too excited over some small sample sizes; they’re forgetting that Chavez was decent last year and has MUCH more talent than Martinez.

Kimbrel is the one to go imo...
if we’d use him, I’d keep him. Since not, I’d send him down.

That makes sense, too.

We have too many internal options to hold onto 'The Automatic Run Machine'
(aka Chavez) He’s given up more runs than he has outs, if I was to guess.

But while Kimbrel is better...
his development is also more valuable, and it does him no good to waste away getting 5-6 appearances a month here.
Not even close.
That would mean an ERA >27.

I speak (or write) for myself. I never write against a player of the team because I “hate” him. I watch every game and I study the numbers (thanks to fangraphs, THT, Statcorner, etc) and I draw my conclusions.
Chavez certainly has the stuff to be a decent reliever. But he wasn’t a decent reliever in 2008, and 2009 and he hasn’t been decent in 2010.
2008: tRA: 5.10, FIP: 4.53, xFIP: 4.25
2009: tRA: 4.97, FIP: 4.85, xFIP: 4.49
2010: tRA: 4.95, FIP: 5.04, xFIP: 4.54
That’s a bad reliever. He is a poor’s man Kyle Farnsworth. And the Braves have better arms in AAA.
Though, I agree that Martinez is worse.

That's my main point--Martinez is worse.
He should be the first man sent down (provided Bobby plans on using Kimbrel).

Also,
those numbers do imply that he is a “decent” reliever. A guy with a 4.50-5.00 ERA out of the bullpen is not THAT bad. Sure, you don’t want him to be your closer. But that’s roughly replacement level. Not saying he’s good, but he would deserve a spot in most team’s bullpens (though not ours). We’re actually one of very few teams that have 7 better options.

This.
And he’s young enough to have plenty of upside.

What's wrong with Martinez?
He was solid last year and has been in ATL as well.
