Yasser Gomez: Batting Stats

I was looking around for Yasser Gomez's Havana Industriales stats on the internet, but could only manage to find them on the Japanese Wikipedia. I translated the Japanese terms and created this as an accessible reference, take a look:

Some quick observations:

  • They weren't kidding about the "little power" Gomez displays: only 9 HR in 1925 AB, or a home run per 214 AB
  • More walks than strikeouts: a 1.68 BB/K ratio
  • Supposedly, Gomez has good speed, but his SB% sucks: only 18-for-34 for a 53% success rate.
Of course, the usual caveats apply: the Cuban National Series isn't the MLB; different talent levels; different styles of play, etc, etc.
