Atlanta Braves Fan Confidence Poll
If it's Monday, then it's the Atlanta Braves fan confidence poll. As always, this poll and therefore your confidence level should encompasses several areas of the team. These areas include, but are not limited to, the team’s ownership, current management, talent, minor-league system, and general playing ability on the field. The poll will stay open for 48 hours, and then the results will be posted and graphed against the previous weeks.

Back up to a 10
After this week, I have gone back up from 9 to 10. Even the losses were close, good games. The Braves as a whole are playing better ball. Medeln is certainly filling in for JJ, (even down to the point of getting very little run support.) The minor leaguers seem to be coming around, too. The Vizcaino for Vazquez trade seems to be a stroke of genius.

I’m feeling the most confident I have since the season started. The offense will only get better as McLouth, Chipper, McCann, and Escobar return to their usual performance after long slumps to start the season. Now if only it had been Derek Lowe to go down with an injury and be replaced by Medlen instead of JJ….
From a 7 to an 8, and planning on staying there. I’m getting off the roller coaster. I’m confident the Braves will be competitive. I like the looks of the future with the pitching prospects. i like Wren as GM, not scared to make a move and most of the moves are pretty good.
Thank you Justin, I have seen the light. Come on in folks, the water is fine.
Heyward is pretty good
Well, ain't this place just a geographical oddity?
Two weeks from everywhere!
(Incidentally, I am also going up a notch to “8”, after two straight “7’s”)
Hopefully, it’s the straight and narrow from here on in, with October glory as our re-ward.

Hmmm
Still a lot of people lingering down at 6-7.
I can’t help but find reasons to be optimistic. We got two great starts out of Kris Medlen this week. We won a game where we trailed by 6 entering the 9th innings. We swept the Reds, who really have been problems for us over the past several years. We’ve even gotten a run of 3 straight solid starts out of Derek Lowe (knock on wood). Jason Heyward is still awesome. Glaus has really been hitting this month, up until the Pirates’ series. Tim Hudson is having a great season.
In the minors, Freddie Freeman is hitting well and is starting to get the power stroke working. Teheran has been dominating all season, Vizcaino is really coming into his own, and Mike Minor is proving to be an entirely different guy than we thought he would be. Randy Gress is hitting over .300. Randall Delgado is pitching well. Chris Resop has been, arguably, the best pitcher in the International League. Michael Dunn is cruising down there, too. And Christian Bethancourt is finally finding some hits in his bat.
I’m easily at 9.
I'm also growing convinced
That the four people who keeping voting “1” are Phillies fans wandering over here. Gotta be.
well said.

I'd be among those 6-7...
and here’s why. I’m naturally pessimistic on these things. Maybe it’s the Georgia basketball fan in me, but I never underestimate the ability to shoot your own foot off. So while we all see good things, I try to counter my innate rose colored “My team is great” glasses with inherent pessimism taught to me by watching said college hoops program be its own worst enemy time and time again.
Yeah, we’re hot right now, like Hansel, we’re doing it against bottom feeders. We’ve got great players, but can they keep it up or will the bats revert back to the cold April ways? Good starters, could injuries kill us with JJ down, KK using Lowe’s socks, and Hanson’s recent poor outing. Great talent in the minors, but minor league studs aren’t a guarantee.
Basically, I’m just a doubtful person, and can balance all the great potential with possible disasters. 6-7 is my range, if only cause I wouldn’t make any franchise a perfect 10 right now. They all have various flaws.
Hansel, he’s so hot right now, Hansel.

Cockchafer

I’m wondering when I can vote 0, because that’s how i feel about this team.

I hope this is sarcastic, and you aren’t one of the 4 donkeys that DID vote a 1…
If you are one of those geniuses, to you say:

Interesting… I didn’t know that…
I stand corrected…

This post is to all those who voted 1
If you can’t say anything good about your team, then you must not be a true fan. Seriously man, the 1 is there for epic fails in baseball. Not close calls. An epic fail is when you’re no-hit, or you lose a vital playoff game because of errors. Before you vote again, consider whether you’re a fan or note. This is the fan confidence poll.
Jason Heyward is the reason that Chuck Norris parks his car in a garage.
Trolls are always lurking.

I’ve been a 6 for the last 4 polls… This week I moved up to a 7… Things are coming together. The frost is melting on some of our regulars… The frost(ed tips) need to be cut off others…

It feels nice to be on the bottom end of the bell curve with my 7.
Of course, I probably should jump it up to an 8, but I still have concerns about our hitting, namely with Yunel and Little Mac (although he’s starting to pull out of it).

I continue to be optimistic! I witnessed in ST this team has the talent to compete in our division. It’s nice to see much of this talent coming together. When they all start clicking, we will be sitting in first place.
That being said, I am also wise enough to know we can’t win them all, but feel we will be winning many more than we lose. Keeping the faith!
Go Braves!
Smart people are blessed with having a stop sign between their brain and their mouth.
Good call
I was paying attention during ST too, and I remember McLouth struggling something fierce. Everybody else was fine. Escobar, Diaz, Cabrera, Chipper, McCann, Glaus, the whole team. Granted, they faced some AAA pitching part of the time, but Glaus and McCann have found their swings, Chipper and McLouth are getting close, Cabrera is showing signs of life. I hope Diaz and especially Escobar get theirs going soon, we need Esco and his career .292/.788OPS back on the team.
Heyward is pretty good
4 more words: Our minor league pitching.

I Went...
With a 7. I’m always the optimist, yet wary optimist. I think there is always room for improvement. Nobody is perfect. However, after reading others’ comments, I was unaware that the poll also covered the minors. I was under the impression that the poll just referred to the big league team. I’m happy for our minor league guys. I’m sure they will develop and be what we need to be at whatever point we need them.
