Gwinnett 1, Pawtucket 5
- F. Freeman 2-4 2B, .292
- C. Martinez 4IP 0H 0R 0BB 4K 4.05ERA
- J. Lyman 1IP 2H 0R 1BB 0K 3.52ERA
Freddie Freeman makes his return to the lineup after missing the last few games for....some reason... and he appears to have not missed a beat in his time off. His OPS is up around .850 now. That is pretty damn impressive for a guy who is one of the youngest players in the league. Unfortunately Freeman was about the only guy to show up with a bat tonight and James Parr was ineffective in his start.
Mississippi 5, Chattanooga 0
- J. Schafer 2-5 2B, 2K, .400 Avg
- W. Cabrera 2-5 2 2B, RBI, .297 Avg
- D. Linares 3-4 2B, HR(4), 3 RBI, BB, .270 Avg
- M. Minor 6IP 1H 0R 3BB 8K 4.17ERA 6-0 GB/FB
Everything appeared to go right for the Braves in this one as the offense pounded out 10 hits with 7 of them going for extra bases and Mike Minor completely shut down the Chattanooga offense not allowing a hit until the 5th inning and regaining the minor league lead in strike outs. Donell Linares has found his stroke again recently and apparently has been learning to take a walk as he has 8 in his last 10 games (0 in the previous 20).
Kinston 6, Myrtle Beach 4 - 12 Innings
- G. Rodriguez 1-5 HR(7), 2 RBI, 2K, .250 Avg
- G. Avila 2-4 HR(6), 2 RBI, BB, .315 Avg
The Gerardos were the only offense that Myrtle Beach could muster in support of Matt Crim and Chad Rodgers eventually blew the game in the top of the 12th inning. I really don't have anything else for this game.
Rome - Off
I miss my Rome baseball.
