If Thy Right Eye Offend Thee...
You know how Brian McCann has been having trouble with his right eye lately? He says that it only bothers him at night, and that in day games he has no trouble. The numbers completely bear that out. He's hitting .345 / .537 / .587 in day games but only .180 / .328 / .240 in night games. Both his homers came in day games, too. Once he gets this fixed, he should be back to normal.

You mean IF he ever gets it fixed. It seems that LASIK is not the answer for him.
"My God! Good news fans, the Braves are showing signs of life for the first time in weeks. As a matter of fact, they appear to be beating the crap out of each other."
Who says it has to be LASIK? Glasses did the trick for him last year, and should work just as well this year.

Guess it depends on how you define fixed. Glasses would help to fix his hitting woes but would just cover up the eye problem.

Well, sure.
But as long as he keeps getting his prescription adjusted, glasses can be a long-term solution, too. Especially if he gets some sweet Chris Sabo-style sports goggles.

hope so
That would be great. Brian is not exactly the poster child for the LASIK industry.
Well that settles it...
Cox will just have to instruct Heyward to adjust the earth’s rotation during night games so that it will be day light for the whole game. It may fuck with a few billion people’s sleep schedules, but this team is not going to stop sucking with BMac hitting below .200 at night.
Nothing but love for Brian...
(and sorry if this has been commented to death in an earlier fanpost) but I’m still infuriated that he didn’t mention this to anyone until just last week. He said he’d been having trouble as far back as spring training. Plus, he knows firsthand how vision problems can affect his hitting and consequently the team.
What about his defense? Probably too small a sample size, but I’d be interested in a comparison of his defensive stats day vs night.
