Braves Quote For The Day
From the guy who put this Braves team together:
"It’s unlikely any team would make a major move at this time with their roster," Wren said. "It’s just 20 games, and there are a lot of players [around baseball] well under their norms and other players well over.
"We will continue to watch and look to improve our club whenever possible."
In a way he's right, where does one start to improve this club? Even if we pulled off some massive trade for an Adrian Gonzalez type player (and he's not even available yet), that only fixes one of 6 or 7 spots in the lineup that aren't producing. Where's Reid Gorecki when you need him?

Power hitter
I’m sorry but if you replace Troy Glaus with a guy like Gonzalez, Fielder, Konerko, Lee or Berkman you can’t tell me it wouldn’t change the way this lineup looks.
But who do you find willing to part with those guys now?
I’m sure anyone would be all over it if FW called and offered Hanson or Heyward, but with the possible exception of Freeman, most of the Braves best prospects are a long way from the bigs. Generally teams are going to be looking for guys that will be up in the next year or two as the centerpieces of trades for star players.
Reyes, Thole, Wright, Beltran, Bay, Davis, Martinez, Tejada...

That May Be True...
But, I just don’t see us trading away Hanson, Heyward, or Freeman. I think the team is counting on those guys to be our future. Outside of them, who knows? We shall see.
Um…Lee? Really? I am pretty sure that Troy is out-hitting Lee and Berkman right now.
Also, Troy is one of our hottest hitters during this current skid. He is not the problem.

You speak truth.
Melky has been rapidly improving, too. People seem set in their ways, though. They got used to blaming Troy and Melky (the new guys) for everything when they started out the season by not hitting. Nobody seemed to notice when they did start hitting, because the rest of the team stopped hitting by then. Someone has to be blamed for all these losses, right? Might as well keep blaming the guys you were already blaming….

All of those guys I mentioned
Could be available. I’m not saying we could get any of those guys but I’m replying to Gondeee when he stated that one guy wouldn’t help.
Where’s Reid Gorecki when you need him?
I believe he goes by “Brent Clevlen” now :)
