I fail to understand that… It was a great follow up to the first one. I won’t say it was just as good, cuz that’s damn near impossible to do, but it was a spiritual successor in every conceivable way. How can you like the first one and not that one?

An uncountable number of forced jokes, piss poor acting performances from every single cast member, action scenes that were…again…completely forced.

Yes, I am the ONLY one here that gets tired of the idiots who

are eternal optimists instead of realists, and who claim any opinion that isn’t “the Braves are perfect” and “we’ll win tomorrow” is ridiculous and immature…

It’s not about eternal optimism. It is about the very realist point that you can judge a whole season based a small handful of games. Not for the team, not for an individual player/players. Tonight sucked, and we don’t have to be happy about that. But losing tonight does not mean the season’s over.

CRAP

CAN’T* judge a whole season.

by J-Freak on Apr 26, 2010 11:33 PM EDT up reply actions

You may not be only one who gets tired of it (and btw, I’m sorry for being optimistic about my team in April, especially after two of the hitters that you’ve been crusading against had solid games), but you’re one of the only ones who happens to be acting like a baby about it.

Another uninnocent, elegant fall into the unmagnificent lives of adults...

A) I only crusaded against Glaus, so your facts are wrong
B) I’m the only one acting like a baby? Let’s review the mature comments of others:

Well, we just lost our 6th in a row…. I’m going cry now. Goodnight everyone.
And you’re back to being a complete fucking douche.
SHITPISSCOCKFUCKDAMNASSPUSSYMEXICANSTICKYBALLS!!!!!
Remember when we were 8-5?
those were good ole times
There is no point in watching tomorrow. lowe vs carpenter, fuck this is fustrating.

All great examples of how mature everyone here is…

Mature as in practically trolling in the thread right after a loss?

"My God! Good news fans, the Braves are showing signs of life for the first time in weeks. As a matter of fact, they appear to be beating the crap out of each other."

by bravos1984 on Apr 26, 2010 11:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Trolling in the thread?

So now you are going to set guidelines on when people must come in and leave etc., or they will be called names and treated like crap for that too?

I chose to WATCH the game instead of watch everyone’s comments on the game, and then come in and see what everyone was saying after the game…

I guess I’ll cast in my line and float on by…

"I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." Beatrice Hall paraphrasing Voltaire. That being said, it is "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." Abraham Lincoln

Point of order

Taking comments out of context to use against us for your own nefarious purposes. I’ll say again: us being pissed about a loss— and rightfully so— does not equate to giving up the whole season as lost. So please quit trying to act as if we’ve all joined you in your “the-sky-is-falling-the-season-is-over-i-told-you-so-but-you-wouldn’t-listen” campaign and kindly quit picking fights with us trying to prove your perceived superiority. That’s all we ask- no one was calling you out, but you had to pester folks till you could get them to admit that you, in you almighty wisdom, were right all along and we were “blind ignorant fools” for choosing not to fall prey to small sample size and go off half-cocked claiming the season was lost.

by J-Freak on Apr 26, 2010 11:48 PM EDT up reply actions

I have never once said the season is over

I do believe, however, that the trend is disturbing.

Also, I think it’s very hypocritical for certain people to bash me for expressing a concern about certain players or the team as a whole, but then after each loss they are whining and moaning about how crappy it was…

At least I am not flip-flopping every inning depending on how it went

Lowe: .360 BAA vs. Cardinals
Carpenter: .310 BAA vs. Braves

And Carpenter was shelled in his last game against the Braves.

Here’s to optimism for tomorrow.
