Nice. I’ll be all over the place bro. With the sunlight I can get some sick pics so I’ll be all over trying to get good angles. Seriously though, if you just ask some of the folks who work there they can probably point you toward me.

So, do I ask for CB Wilkins or “the big dude with red hair and a camera?”

You can probably just ask for CB. But look for the big dude with a red beard and a camera. If you show up during pregame I’ll be down the 3rd base line talking to the players.

That’s the plan. I hope to get there around 11…do you think that will be too late? I am really trying to get some autographs – Freeman, Kimbrel, etc, but it really doesn’t matter. I want as many as I can get.

Really? I’ll be there myself on Thursday:)
Shouldn't Reid Gorecki get a shot in RF before that Heyward kid everybody talks about?
Hmmmm...
With so many regular TCers there, I’m wondering if I should wander down there for the game. I live in Williamsburg, though, so its a bit of a hike.

I’m going from Yorktown, so you have no excuse.

I’ll be there as well. Brining my 20 month old son to his first game. Not sure how it will go but we are gonna try it.

Sweet! I am going with some friends, but am trying to bring my nephew too. I think it would be his first game as well.

Nice!
I was supposed to be there yesterday. I live in Chesapeake.

It’s pretty small and you definitely have to be heads up on most foul balls. They tend to ricochet back at us a lot. Ask CB about my awesome, beer in one hand, bare handed grab on opening night.

I was directly behind you guys, back about 15 rows. It was indeed one hell of a catch!

It’s pretty average for a minor league park, you just can’t really see it in these pics. It is too short, which leads to a lot of ball hit straight back nearly killing the folks working up there.

I thought Harbor Park was the top-rated minor league park in the country?
Then again, that was 10 years ago…

Yeah, we were at one point, for several years, but that’s been a while. It’s still a gorgeous place to watch a game. But something like the foul net has no impact on that whatsoever.
Just as far as parks close to here go Durham is by far the best. With all the work they’ve put into it they’ve made it a baseball cathedral.

I think Durham is a lot like Gwinnett, in the fact that they’re both extremely corporate, and kind of missing the accessibility, and relaxed intimacy that comes with minor league ballparks. They’re both nice parks, but they’re both a little too “serious” for my taste in minor league.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
I guess I haven’t had that feeling in Durham, it’s always been pretty chill when I’ve been there.

Well remember, I happened to think Potomac is the greatest park ever because it’s so dead and quiet, that I can turn it into a home game for the Pelicans because nobody else is clapping or cheering for anyone else.

Yeah, when I was reading your post I immediately thought of your love for Potomac. I love that place too, because usually I can go inside for BP and they don’t care. Going up there Sunday actually.

What about that stadium over in Newport News where the Pilots play? I always liked that one, even though it was old as all get-out. Just something about it…

Yeah, it’s pretty nice. Too bad it floods like crazy. There was talk about bringing a Single A team back to it and I’d go nuts if that happened. That was actually the 2nd choice for the Pelicans to play at if they hadn’t chosen MB.

Sweet
You got the back of my father-in-law’s head in the second pic (the guy in the yellow hat). I sent Gondee pretty much the same pic from the top of the 6th, but it didn’t get posted.

Haha, nice. The three other people in the pic are my friends.

Thanks...
…for sharing photos from an “away game” for a Braves team and some place not an easy reach from Georgia. Love the minors and their parks. Please, keep up the excellent work.

Since it appears its going to be TC meetup day in Norfolk tomorrow, maybe we should actually plan to meet up somewhere at a set half-inning during the game? I’m up for whatever.
You should all be able to recognize CB from his picture on the back cover of his book. You do have his book right? If not, shame and you and a pox on your house. You owe it to yourself to read it, its one of the best baseball books I’ve every read. Anyway, if you don’t know what CB looks like, he’s a big bear-looking mutha fucker. All the players will be gathered around him asking him to take their picture and trying to get him to take their autograph.
I’m going to be sitting in 205, which will probably be right behind CB’s seats. I’ll either be wearing my red Heyward jersey or my grey Klesko(but I’m leaning toward the Heyward), and I’ll have a G-Braves cap on for sure.
Shouldn't Reid Gorecki get a shot in RF before that Heyward kid everybody talks about?
I think my tickets are for 213, but I may be able to swing some home-plate ones too, so I am not sure which ones I will get.
Either way, I will probably end up moving down just to the right of the Braves’ dugout.

I say we all just come to my section, 105, and get loud and proud for our Braves!

I had no problem getting into 105 the other night. They are pretty damn good seats and I don’t anticipate too many people in the stands.
