So I was going to start something new tonight but I typed this whole thing out and somehow is got deleted soooo next time.
Gwinnett 2, Charlotte 5
- B. Clevlen 1-2 2B, RBi, BB, K
- J. Thurston 1-4 2B, RBI, K
- C. Gearrin 1IP 1H 0R 1BB 2K
Gwinnett has now dropped 6 straight games in which they haven't scored more than 2 runs in any outing. On the plus side they have allowed more than 4 runs just twice this season counting tonight's loss. Brent Clevlen has been the only truly consistent hitter (pardons to Wes Timmons and his plethora of walks).
Mississippi 3, West Tennessee 5
- M. Gomez 1-3 HR(2), 3 RBI, BB, 2K
- C. Johnson 0-4 4K
Cody Johnson is on pace for a million strike outs this season. That is all.
Myrtle Beach 2, Salem 13
- S. Moody 2-5
- A. Milligan 1-5 2B, 2K
- G. Rodriguez 1-3 2B, RBI, BB
- J. Sucre 2-4
- M. Kennelly 2-4 K
Zeke Spruill pitched what has to be the worst game of his life giving up 9 runs in 3.1 innings without walking or striking out a batter. Juan Abreu wasn't any better but Cole Rohrbough made his second appearance in as many days and allowed just one hit while striking out two in 1.1 innings. Adam Milligan and Gerry Rodriguez are both OPSing over 1.000 right now.
Savannah 4, Rome 1
- C. Harrilchak 1-3 RBI
- A. Odreman 2-3 2B, K
- A. Vizcaino 5IP 5H 3R 2BB 2K
- C. Rasmus 3IP 2H 1R 1BB 3K
Arodys Vizcaino had his second straight underwhelming start for Rome though he allowed less hits this time around. I'll keep reminding everyone for the first few starts when he and Teheran start to get compared: Teheran had 7 Sally League starts last year and Vicaino was in the New York-Penn all season long. I will assume he needs to adjust a little before completely owning guys 2-3 years older than him. Alberto Odreman is Rome's replacement for RSF at 1B. He has big power but not much plate discipline. He profiles similarly to Gerry Rodriguez with Myrtle Beach but with less polish.
