1st Spring Training Game
I'm headed to Jupiter next Thursday, 3/19, for Braves-Cardinals. I'm not terribly interested in getting autographs, but wouldn't mind chatting with some players if there's an opportunity. What are some overall suggestions you guys have in terms of getting a fan-friendly experience? How early should we arrive? I don't know where our seats are, but where is the best place to hang out before the game? Or is after the game better? Those types of things. Thanks in advance!

Before the park is open your best chance is out in the parking lot down the third base line. The bus will pull up and depending on where it parks and how much of a hurry the guys are in you can see them there. Inside the park the area down by the bullpen is good because it tapers toward the field, meaning your closer to the players. Plus, pitchers are usually bored and willing to talk. Along with that notion, Jupiter allows people to get autographs of the pitchers in the bullpen between innings, so if you hang out there you’ll have more than an ample opportunity to talk to the guys.

Jupiter/Orlando
thanks for the helpful info CB…how far is it from WWS/Braves camp to Jupiter?? We are thinking about making a side trip one day.
It’s actually further than I thought, about 2 and a half hours. But still, not too bad for a day trip.

Arizona spring training is so much better than Florida
There’s like 8 ST complexes in the Phoenix-area within 30-45 minutes of eachother and you can even get down to Tucson in an hour and a half to catch the DBacks, Rockies and White Sox if you really want. I can’t imagine driving 2-3 hours for a ST game.
And I can’t confirm because I’ve never seen ticket prices to the FL complexes, but tickets to the games out here are like $5 bucks. I’m pretty sure I heard someone say the other day that it’s nearly $20 dollars to get into the Braves’ park. That’s nuts.

Sure, but Arizona doesn’t have the Braves, so that right there kills it for me.
