MLB The Show 10

Is anyone else going to pick this up tomorrow? I am pumped about the new additions to RTTS this year. I plan on starting a 3B prospect in the Braves system. If there is any interest I will keep you guys updated on my quest to reach the majors and follow in Chipper's footsteps.

Heh, same here. I don’t work tomorrow so I will be up early to get it before the game at 1. It is supposed to rain here (Orlando area) tomorrow but I’m hoping the game doesn’t get washed out.

by BullManUGA on Mar 2, 2010 12:50 AM EST up reply actions

I'm definitely interested

I’m going to go pick the game up at lunch today. I’ll be recording the Braves game and will watch it when I get home tonight. I’m also thinking about creating a prospect for the Braves system, but I’m not sure what position I want to play yet.

I wanna try being a catcher

I’m debating between SS, 3B, and CF.

by dunnytwogloves on Mar 2, 2010 11:13 AM EST up reply actions

Anyone know much about what they changed from the 09 version?

by Skyagusta on Mar 2, 2010 12:23 PM EST reply actions

In RTTS you now have fielding, baserunning and pitching practice. No more needless pitcher BP. They changed a bunch of other stuff too.

by BullManUGA on Mar 2, 2010 12:26 PM EST up reply actions

Well so much for that.

In May of 2010 I got traded to the Rays for David Price. I was batting .230. Hopefully I can suck less in the Rays system.

by BullManUGA on Mar 2, 2010 2:20 PM EST reply actions

Dude wtf

I got traded for Price too.

They were his favorite team growing up.

Woohooo...

so you’re saying he’ll even sign a cheap deal to give us a home town discount?

I then got traded to the Pirates. Then I got traded to the Orioles. All in 2010. Had a mediocre 2010, batting .254. I just got called up to AAA midway through 2011. I got fed up with sucking at batting so I started simming.

thats why, whenever i make a player, he’s always a reliever. never boring

I plan on doing a Tigers SP named Billy Chapel.

by BullManUGA on Mar 3, 2010 12:26 AM EST up reply actions

Let me know how that goes, i’m interested

They couldn’t say his last name so I changed him to a Braves pitcher named Tom Lindsey (my middle name to differentiate him between Patrick Lindsey the 3B prospect). I use my favorite windup of all time, the Don Drysdale motion. I am mowing them down in AA so far. 5-1. sub 1.50 ERA. 6 quality starts in 7 games.

It costs 200 training points to add a new pitch which I think I will do because right now I have a 4 seam FB with no movement, a changeup and a curveball. I’ll probably add a sinker.

by BullManUGA on Mar 3, 2010 12:46 PM EST up reply actions

I threw a CG shutout in AA. 8-1. 1.32 ERA.

Next day I get traded to the Blue Jays with Jurrjens. They sent me to AAA though!

by BullManUGA on Mar 3, 2010 4:23 PM EST up reply actions

for what? You’re mowing down AA/promoted to AAA plus JJ. They Braves must’ve gotten something good, right?

It was me, Medlen and Jurrjens for Adam Lind, Jeremy Accardo and Marc Rzepczynski. I have no clue who that is.

by BullManUGA on Mar 3, 2010 5:58 PM EST up reply actions

wow. nice haul on both sides, outside of that unknown guy. Although I have to say, if that was real the Jays won

24 year old lefty who pitched very well in 11 starts for the Jays last year. He was their #9 prospect entering the year.

Anyone else still have PS2?

Can’t afford the PS3 yet… Is The Show going to be made for PS2 and can anyone give me a preview if they have a PS2? Thank you!

Baseball is a game where a curve is an optical illusion, a screwball can be a pitch or a person, stealing is legal and you can spit anywhere you like except in the umpire's eye or on the ball.

Okay, So I got it for PS2

Pretty much no big updates at all. Nothing new in RTTS or Franchise. That’s all I use, doesn’t really seem worth the money except for the roster updates but I guess you can get that during the season. I might return it

How many minor league levels?

Still just AAA and AA? I’m holding out for a game that gives you at least one short-season team.

In the PS3 version there is a 15-man A-ball roster to keep reserves for the AA team. That way you don’t get yelled at by the game when someone gets injured and you can’t field a full roster at the AA level. You can’t play as the A-ball team though. I haven’t started a franchise yet since they haven’t released to updates to fix the roster issues.

Any word if this is going to be released for the Wii? Needless to say, Mario Baseball is getting rather old.
