DiMaster Delgado Injured in Car Accident- Could Miss 2010
Tweet from Bill Shanks:
ATL pitching prospect DiMaster Delgado could miss 2010 after suffering a broken bone in his left hand and an upper leg injury in a car wreck
Bad news if this is true. I was looking forward to seeing how he progressed this year moving up a level. Good thing he's still young enough to overcome something like this.

Sorry
Well lets hope he’s alright health wise,he can resume his career once he’s better let him heal first.I’m sure the Braves brass was and is expecting big things from this young man but let him heal and then he can resume pitching again.
Aw shit
Get better soon DD. Hopefully he’ll be back sooner than later. Good to know it wasn’t horribly serious.

Is this the good Delgado or the average Delgado? Not that it matters as his health is most important. But just curious.

Randall is considered the better prospect.

Be interesting to see how one performs without the other...
hope he gets well soon. Nice that he’s still young enough to be at an age appropriate level when he comes back, and that we have plenty of low minors pitching depth to fill in until he returns.

They’re not related. Randall did fine the first few months of the season without him and the previous year in Danville without him.

I knew they weren't related...
but had forgotten they hadn’t been tied at the hip through their move up the organizational ladder (kind of like Freeman and Heyward).
Still, while a bad way to go about it, that opens up a starting spot/more innings in the minors for say David Hale, Rasmus, one of the older Danville arms, etc that might have been squeezed in a numbers crunch.
Who knows? It could turn out that things weren’t that bad and he’s actually ready to go in April. It also could have turned out that the other guys just beat him for a roster spot. It is going to be interesting to see how those A ball rotations stack up.
