- The Braves Universe was jolted by the news that Jair Jurrjens was heading back to Atlanta to have an MRI. Luckily there was no tear, only mild inflammation that requires rest.
- We learned that Nate McLouth had vision problems last season, which he has corrected this off-season.
- The Braves are apparently on the verge of signing top Dominican shortstop Edward Salcedo.
- The Johnny Damon saga finally ended, with him signing on for one season in Detroit.
