Peachtree TV
Whats the deal with Peachtree TV? I live in Chattanooga,TN and have Dish Network and apparently its impossible to get Peachtree TV through Dish Network? I know its available through cable but i unfortunately cannot get cable where I live? Can you get it on DirectTV? If you buy the Extra Innings package through DirectTV are the games blacked out in Chattanooga. All this makes me miss the TBS days even more. Somebody help me!!!!!!

Baseball is a game where a curve is an optical illusion, a screwball can be a pitch or a person, stealing is legal and you can spit anywhere you like except in the umpire's eye or on the ball.

I have no idea about Chattanooga...
…but I assume living in Atlanta makes a difference as Peachtree TV is a local broadcast station in Atlanta, and I believe satellite services are required by law to carry local broadcast networks.
There would be no point in getting Extra Innings in Chattanooga for the Braves as their games will be blacked out except for the local broadcast, which you should be able to get without it. (Still, EI is great for other games!) I am pretty sure DirecTV has Peachtree TV in Knoxville (my dad lives there and wouldn’t not accept missing games), so I imagine they would have it in Chattanooga as well.
I'm in Chattanooga
And Peachtree TV streams the Braves games through CSS (Comcast Sports Station), channel 27 here. So I’m really not sure if you can get them through DirectTV since they are streaming them through a Comcast-run station.

I have DirecTV...
and I live between Chattanooga and Nashville. My “local” channels are in Nashville. I don’t get Peachtree TV, except for Braves games (on Channel 651). They don’t have any commercials. When I had Dish, I didn’t get the Peachtree games.

TBS made the biggest mistake of all time with cable TV / Sports Broadcasting
Lets face it the ATL Braves should still be on TBS and the ATL Braves made TBS what it is today. Without the Braves broadcast what does TBS have ? Bad movies that have been out for years and re-runs of the Office ?
Please ATL Braves are TBS .
Go Braves. Cannot wait to get this season started.

TBS went all cable on us, so they lost a lot of viewers that way. I can’t imagine a scenario in which the Braves would have gained viewers in that situation.

I think it hurt the Braves more than the channel...
in the Carribbean, and nationwide, having those broadcasts to promote and sell the Braves was great for marketing.

Jurrjens and Wagner have both said recently that they watched a lot of Braves games and were fans. Jurrjens might have been drawn because of Andruw being from Curacau. In Wagner’s day, the Cubs and Braves were the only teams with nearly every game televised. Fox now covers every region, a few teams have their own partner network, but not long ago, it was TBS and WGN, or wait for Saturday and Sunday game of the week.
