Fun Facts!
Javier Vazquez, who had a limited trade market due to his $11.5M salary, will be the 9th-highest paid Yankee in 2010. The 8 guys ahead of him will make a combined $152.35 million in 2010 alone. Makes me glad the Braves aren't in the AL East.

Thanks for ruining baseball, Skankees.
"Jason Heyward is more than the top prospect in baseball. He's the player who could transform the Braves from a modest threat into a World Series contender."
9th there, and I think would have been 3rd here...
and the “limited trade market” was as much due to his clause for no trade to the West as it was his salary.
And I read that some are predicting a 4 year/$100 million contract for Jeter. Oh how I wish I were so overrated.
lmao
I really, really hope they do

I saw that too
that’s a lot of money for good hitting, mediocre defense, and calm eyes.

I really don’t get the hate for Jeter, yes, he’s a Yankee, but, the dude has never had a hint of a scandal hit him, has always been a real stand-up guy, an dude, have you seen his girlfriends? And on top of that, he’s been hella consistent, as long as he’s been playing, dude, he’s the Yankee’s version of Chipper Jones.
I don’t hate him. He is a pretty good player, but the Jeter-love out there has gotten to hysterical levels. “Greatest Yankee Ever?” I mean, c’mon, what about Ruth, Mantle, Maris, Gherig, Berra? There’s no way those guys take a backseat to Jeter. His demigod status has opened him up to lampooning. I don’t hate him, I’m just walking through the door that the media has thrown wide open.
I’m not saying he’s the greatest Yankee ever, is he the greatest Yankee of, well, your age is unknown, so I’ll go with my generation, yes, without a doubt.
Have you not seen that being bantered about by the media though? They really are saying he’s the greatest Yankee ever; I wasn’t putting those words in YOUR mouth, I was just defending my position. I don’t have anything personal against the guy, but when somebody is that ridiculously overblown, I’m going to make fun of him/her. Period.
