I have heard quite a significant amount of rumblings, but the one name I have not heard is Brendan Ryan. The Atlanta Braves fielded team for the upcoming season seems to lack a good quality backup shortstop. Yes we do have Diory, but isn't there quite a significant drop off when he enters the game? Brendan can play second, shortstop, and third base.
Is this not exactly what we need? He is under team control until the 2013 season, and can provide the needed backup, without much drop-off, from the previously mentioned positions.
He would not cost us much either, I do believe he should not get a significant upgrade in money, this being his first year of arbitration eligibility.
I just believe this would be a great, although not high-profile, move for the organization. He seems to be a hard-working "Atlanta Braves" style player.
With all this being said, I have attached a poll in regards to others thoughts.
Please feel free to add your other thoughts, opinions, viewpoints, etc. Your comments are much appreciated.
Hope everyone has a good day, and enjoy the winter meetings' ramblings.
Sincerely,
Richard.
