The Braves have signed a couple more Minor League free agents, first baseman Ernesto Mejia and right handed pitcher Jose Reyes. After spending the first five seasons of his career with the Braves, Mejia signed as a free agent with the Royals before the 2010 season, and split the year between High A and AA, hitting .276 with a .805 OPS, 18 doubles, 11 homers, and 48 RBI. I'm honestly not sure which Jose Reyes this is. There were five Jose Reyeses playing affiliated baseball last year, including the Mets' shortstop, and the three of them that are right handed pitchers all played rookie ball. Also, lefty pitcher Steve Evarts, who hasn't played since the Braves released him before the 2009 season, signed as a Minor League free agent with the Yankees. Hopefully he's overcome the arm injuries and off-field issues that derailed his Braves career.
