Why I Love Baseball

I am sure someone has done a post like this before, but I just started thinking about this a few minutes ago and I couldn't help but jot it down and share it with the Talking Chop brethren and sistren. And here are the reasons I love baseball no particular order.

Because there is a farm.

Because one player can sacrifice himself for another.

Because overtime isn't sudden death.....and it is. And its not overtime - its free baseball.

Every stadium has its own rules and dimensions and humidor and personality.

Because Kevin Youkilis, Prince Fielder, Pablo Sandoval and many other "non traditional' athletes have been good at this game.

Because there is no more tense moment in sports than the bottom of the ninth with the winning run in scoring position.

And there is no more exciting moment in sports than when your team scores that run.

Because there is no clock telling me when the game is going to end.

Walk up music is awesome.

Because no matter how many Adrian Gonzalez' and Carl Crawfords teams sign 9 good innings from some rookie could make it all for naught.

And no matter how good Doc Halladay or King Felix are they only need to make one bad pitch to lose.

The nicknames are cool. (See Above)

'Chicks dig the long ball' will always be funny.

Because rally caps, thundersticks and rally monkeys are ridiculous....but they work.

Because stepping on the baselines is sacrilege.

Because numbers are fun!

And finally, because I love the Braves.

I could do this all night, but I want to see what you guys think. Let me know why you love the game!
