This Week At Talking Chop

It's reliever week at Talking Chop. We'll take a look at the guys in the Majors and then our top-10 minor league relief prospects.

Monday:  Billy Wagner, Jonny Venters, Craig Kimbrel
Tuesday:  Takashi Saito, Peter Moylan, Eric O'Flaherty
Wednesday:  Kyle Farnsworth, Mike Dunn, Cristhian Martinez, Scott Proctor
Thursday:  Braves Top-10 Minor League Relief Pitcher Prospects: 6-10
Friday:  Braves Top-10 Minor League Relief Pitcher Prospects: 1-5
Saturday:  Around The NL East

The Braves are actively working on getting some additional warm bodies for this spot on the team, and in the past week they have already added Jay Sborz. Perhaps they will oblige us during reliever week and add a more prominent name to the Atlanta bullpen.

Wednesday looks like a throwaway day.

Looking forward to the write up on Venters and Kimbrel. Both were outstanding this year.

How does Fredi treat his bullpen? Will he trot the same guy day after day?

You mean will Venters arm finally fall off?

I have an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one.

Ewww... I just thought of Dave Dravecky.

So sad...

almost as bad as the former Rays farmhand (Saunders I wanna say was the name), that had it happen twice.

Does Kimbrel still count as a “prospect”?

Have the Braves resigned Moylan? I haven’t seen anything about it.

I truly hope they do. He’s been an absolute work-horse for us, and if you read his blog, he seems to be working hard this summer to get in better shape. Not sure if that will impact his pitching or not.

My wife has a bit of a crush on Moylan, too. She likes guys who are particularly good with the jokes.
