Ken Rosenthal just posted the following on his Twitter account:
I haven't had time to digest the move but my initial reaction is it would be a good deal. Obviously our depth takes a tremendous hit but Dan Uggla could take Chipper Jones' regular spot in the lineup. Martin Prado would become our everyday third baseman. This is assuming Jones either isn't able to return from his knee injury or would be unable to be an everyday player. I think we certainly need insurance at third base because Chipper's future is very much up in the air.
Let's take a look at Uggla vs. Infante:
Dan Uggla's 2010 line
589 AB 33 HRs 105 RBIs 149 SOs .287 AVG .369 OBP .508 SLG .877 OPS
Omar Infante's 2010 line
471 AB 8 HRs 47 RBIs 62 SOs .321 AVG .359 OBP .416 SLG .775 OPS
I'm indifferent about Mike Dunn because he doesn't have a guaranteed spot in the rotation next year and is probably going to be shopped multiple times prior to Opening Day 2011 if he isn't moved in this deal.
