Around SBN: Following UFC 146 Loss, Jason 'Mayhem' Miller 'Done' in UFC

It's the thumb that he injured sliding into third base a week ago. This is apparently more precautionary than anything. Funny how it was almost a year to the day that the Braves shut Jason Heyward down in last year's AFL. That turned out okay, here's hoping this will as well.

It’s alright we have a good idea of what could do,I’m sure Wren and all wanted to see him get some at bats against good pitching but he held his own this year and he’s going to get better.Get him healthy.

Well it looks like I probably won't be able to see any of the AFL games this year...

so this is fine with me.

Good plan.

I wrote a novel, it's about baseball, you should buy it:

Speaking of the AFL

It was a good night for Braves prospects.

Harrilchak went 4-4 with a HR, a 2b, a SB and 3 RBI
Pastornicky went 1-4 with a double and 1 RBI
Gearrin pitched 2.0 scoreless, hitless innings allowing 2 BB.

Harrilchak and Pastor are both hiting well over .400

Nice to know

*Just Chill* when things start to look a bit difficult-don't panic as you take away your ability to think straight. Go Braves! Go Dawgs! Go Falcons!

Very good article on Harrilchak here.

To me, he’s sounding very confident and like he’s knows he belongs:

“I want to work on hitting to all fields and barrel balls up and play solid defensively,” he said. “I’m looking to be a dominant ballplayer out here and maybe get my name out there a little more.”

Gearrin fuckin shit up.

Morgan: Do you think I could come into the clubhouse after the game and display my ass for both those veterans and the younger guys?

Baker: Well, Joe, you are on the payroll of the team, and you're a legend, so I suppose — holy shit!

[Joe has appeared next to Dusty, in the dugout, completely naked]

Morgan: Hey.

He looked like he might be able to make the roster out of ST to me. That would give us two sidearms out of the ’pen.

The Braves need to hire a new minor league sliding instructor. They can’t keep having top hitting prospects injuring thumbs on the bases.

I think that the Astros have a rule that if you slide headfirst in the minors, you are automatically pulled from the game. Minor league games mean nothing, the argument goes, so why risk an injury?

Good, see you in the spring Freddie. Enjoy the offseason.

Skype parties are the new thing.

What do parties...

…have to do with parting in Atlanta?

by cavebird on Oct 26, 2010 2:18 PM EDT up reply actions

I was referencing the fact that Freddie Freeman shares a home in Atlanta with Jason Heyward, atleast during the season. I was unaware about their offseason homes, which make sense.
