Freddie Freeman?

What if Freeman's thumb injury is very serious and he cant be ready to go by opening day?

Star-divide

IF Freeman can not go on opening day who is playing 1st base for the Braves on opening day?We could re-sign Glaus(but i hope not) or we could sign someone like Xavier Nady to fill in and back him up.Nady bats right handed and is a veteran prescence which would be the perfect compliment to Freeman

WHAT IF A METEOR HITS JASON HEYWARD?

"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." it couldn't

Heyward’s gravitional pull is so large that the meteor would begin to orbit HIM.

Heyward's

the ONE ring. He could shrugg off a meteor like a child swatting a fly.

Only Stephen Hawking could answer this question

However, I have a couple of theories;

First, the impact could cause an explosion equal to hundreds of nuclear bombs. A nuclear winter would ensue wiping out the human race much like the dinosaurs.

Second, the impact could cause a reaction similar to the ones that are being attempted at the CERN particle accelerator. Extremely dense particles would be created, in turn creating a small black hole that would swallow the earth and eventually the entire galaxy.

Either way, God help us all.

by Andy Braves Fan on Oct 22, 2010 10:29 AM EDT up reply actions

So Heyward would discover the Higgs Boson?

Morgan: Do you think I could come into the clubhouse after the game and display my ass for both those veterans and the younger guys?

Baker: Well, Joe, you are on the payroll of the team, and you're a legend, so I suppose — holy shit!

[Joe has appeared next to Dusty, in the dugout, completely naked]

Morgan: Hey.

It's just a theory

but potentially yes. Someone get me Hawking on the phone!

THE METEOR SHRINKS INTO A TINY LITTLE SPARK WHILE SCREAMING

The meteor would say, “I’m so very sorry, almighty Heyward. I didn’t mean it! Please don’t hurt me!”

The birth of Jason Heyward was God’s punishment for the sins of the people in New York and Philly.

by TonyAlmeyda on Oct 21, 2010 7:09 PM EDT up reply actions

the meteor would be given a concussion

and would be sent down to the asteroid belt after hitting below the mendoza line

The Theory of Evolution states that only the strong survive. Maybe so, maybe so. But the Theory of Competition states that, just because they're the strong, doesn't mean they can't get their asses kicked.

Now that was VERY Funny....will add it to the monologe

it just felt right and the chance to go to the postseason is hard to pass up. I’ve always respected their orginization… and Bobby…I’m excited. I’m looking forward to it...Derrek Lee (at press conference sayiing he had been traded to the Braves)

Good lord cjones2010

is Xavier Nady your father? I swear that you suggest we sign him in nearly every post you make.

says the guy who continually brings up Jayson Werth even though both options are about equally likely

You know… cause he’s the roadie.

I want Albert pujols…but its not gonna happen…so i dont talk about it…unless our financial situation changes drastically we aren’t getting Werth…so there’s no sense in bringin it up constantly.

There’s quite a bit of difference between Albert Pujols and Jayson Werth.

We could certainly afford Werth if we dealt Lowe or if Chipper retired and we dealt KK.

we would then be starting two rookies in our rotation, and have a hole at either 3b or 2b….how is that better?

There are serious problems with that scenario.

1. Werth will sign with someone before Chipper makes a retirement decision, which won’t be until after Spring Training starts.

2. If we deal Lowe, we’ll have to eat so much of his contract, we still won’t be able to afford Werth.

3. Werth will get a deal from somebody that will be an albatross by the end. We see what having Lowe does with our roster possibilities, why do that to ourselves again?

no

but Werth is a SUBSTANTIALLY better player than Nady.

by apoxonbothyourhouses on Oct 23, 2010 3:07 AM EDT up reply actions

Substantially more expensive as well...

and requiring a long term commitment into his mid/late 30s at a high price.

realistically i would probably prefer Nady at one year and 2-3M over Werth and his potential contract…very little risk in signing Nady for that contract…huge amount of risk in giving Werth 100M

With Nady’s agent, very very unlikely he signs for that amount LOL

by MO'toole on Oct 26, 2010 2:18 AM EDT up reply actions

regardless of the injury

we should have a right handed hitting 1b/OF complement to Freeman. Nady is a decent option because he could probably be had for almost nothing, another reclamation project who would fit in nicely, if he can return to for is Conor Jackson.

by Sidbreamsknees on Oct 21, 2010 7:43 PM EDT reply actions

I like this option. He’s been solid at the plate the last two years, and it’s a shame he doesn’t get more ABs. I’m not sure how well he would do defensively, but he couldn’t possibly be worse than Glaus. It would make sense to give a him a start there every 5-6 days while still giving McCann a rest when needed.

by ducheneaux13 on Oct 25, 2010 1:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Infield

The Infield is fine. If something happens to Freeman we still have Infante that can play second, and Prado first. I think they should resign Hinske as well to do what he did this year, backup first and left, and a bat off the bench.
