Not a lot of reps against Kendrick for most of these guys. I guess we better get used to Melky hitting fifth. Loooonng sigh.

I was going to say the same thing for Melky

I’d rather have Ankiel’s defense/wheels/arm in there…not to mention he’s hitting .400 vs. Kendrick.

2/3 of our outfield is awful

And this isn’t new. Myself, I don’t much care which two clowns they run out there. Our offense has to come from different parts of the lineup.

McClouth >= Ankiel. Ankiel swings at pitches no one could hit. He loves the high inside, but has never hit one in there, so I dont know why. Ankiel may have good defense, so there should be a DO rule: Designated Outfieder, who doesn’t get to hit. He is our Andruw Jones. Now lets take these chumps, GO BRAVES!

I'd keep Heyward in the 2 hole

Maybe shift Infante down to 6 or so. Also, no way should McCann be hitting lower than fourth.

The Braves are 2-0 in games started by Kendrick this season...

…despite Kendrick only allowing one run in 15 innings to the Braves this year. Both times, the Braves rallied against the Phillies ’pen to win it in extra innings.

Do all Melky, Ankiel, McLouth, Diaz and Hinske make the playoff roster along with Heyward? Heyward is an obvious lock, Hinske can play 1B/3B so he makes it, Diaz is our only righty out there, Ankiel is the best defender, Bobby seems to love Melky and he has playoff experience and McLouth is the
best baserunner and has hit as good as any of them lately. I’d like to take both Glaus and Freeman but how can you with six outfielders?

Well...

It’s easy. You justify it by calling Hinske a utility player instead of an outfielder. The team is running a bit thin on options to play 3B, despite the fact that Hinske never gets any play time there. He is allegedly capable at that position, though.
