PrintSince the old thread on this topic was closed, I made a new one. Anyone coming to Rome Monday night to attend this? The guest list has grown from Tommy Hanson to also include Kris Medlen, Ryne Reynoso, and Atlanta Braves 3rd base coach Brian Snitker, along with the coaching staff of the Rome Braves. It's always a good time, with good food, door prizes and a great silent auction of really cool collectible stuff from other MiLB teams all over the place. Will be there with my family and would love to meet any of you who are coming.

A little off topic....
The Rome Braves pitching staff is off the charts right now if the roster stands still come season. The should be in line for a very good season til call ups begin. But yeah post some pics if you can.
So should Myrtle and Mississippi...
Gwinnett will probably be solid too. We’ve got a lot of great arms in the system, both starting and relieving.
I’m just worried about the defensive play of our minor league teams effecting the confidence/ability of some of our young pitchers. Does anyone know how our teams stand defensively?
Also, can we get a petition going to have JC Boscan in Rome? I think he would work great with Bethancourt and the young fireballers down there.

Why won’t this let me post my pictures?? There is a icon to insert pictures but when I click on it, nothing happens. Epic headache….lol.
Do you already have them on photobucket or some other picture posting site? I use photobucket, and you just upload them there, click on ‘share’ (or right click and copy; sometimes one doesn’t work), and then just paste here in the comment box. I don’t bother with the little tree icon.
Resizing tip: remove the stuff after the .jpg in the photo source address and replace it with: height="X"/ >
Then remove the spaces after the "<" and before the ">" and make X any number, such as 300, 350, etc. Preview to see if it’s too big or small.

pictures from last night
Was a pretty nice outing. We ate, stood in the autograph line forever, and won some cool door prizes. I have a hard time taking good pics at these things because I usually have both hands full and am trying to keep up with my son. There was a nice video presentation of the 2009 R-braves season, then another video of footage of the three players from 2007 while they played in Rome. Then a Q&A session – most questions were asked to Hanson and Medlen, and a couple to Kurt Kemp. No shocking revelations (sorry!). The crowd was light compared to previous years. These pics go with the post above. Not as good a narrator as some of you. :-) Hope you like them. It was a lot of fun. The doorprizes were awesome!!! The proceeds of this event go to Cancer Navigators of Rome in memory of Jim “Beach” Beauchamp, who was Bobby Cox’s long time bench coach, and then minor league roving instructor for the Braves for many years.

I’ve already told you, but great stuff! Do you remember what they said Ronnie Richardson does? He introduced himself to me last year in ST and he was a real nice guy, but I can’t remember what his job specifically is. I thought he said he was technically Paul Snyder’s replacement.

He is the Braves Assistant Director of Player Development. Before that he was the baseball operations administrative assistant. Super nice guy. He was in Rome some at the end of last season.
Ok, thanks. That’s about what I thought he was. Yeah, he really was a good guy. I was talking with Paul Snyder and Phil Dale (the head of international scouting) and he came up and introduced himself.
