General manager Frank Wren said he had no immediate plans to start looking for Cox's successor. However, those close to Wren believe he will look outside the organization because he wants to begin putting his own stamp on the organization after taking over for John Schuerholz, who was promoted to club president prior to last season. Wren also wants to have a good working relationship with the next manager, and he and Cox are barely on speaking terms despite their public comments to the contrary.
"Obviously the way things are done around here may change," Jones said. "That could be good, could be bad. Guys around here are used to the way Bobby runs a camp, the way he runs a clubhouse and the way he runs a game. Something different could be culture shock but, I mean, there could be some positives, could be some negatives. We've just got wait to see who the lucky soul is."
John Perrotto adds more fuel to the fire
Like he said, "despite their public comments," the more folks say there is friction the more I believe it... though, why haven't we heard a Braves beat writer even allude to any friction?

Because Dave O’Brien is a hack.

nah
Two main reasons, I would think. First, I bet the source who says they arent on speaking terms is coming from outside the organization, not inside. Second, when you report a story like that, you simultaneously piss off Bobby and Frank. When you’re a beat writer, you have to deal with those people every single day. It’s difficult to sometimes report those things when you deal with those people daily.

THIS
a beat writer reports on any “friction”, and they just might get plenty of it for themselves. Whatever a beat writer puts out there today, they have to deal with it tomorrow when they walk into the clubhouse. Of course, that isn’t to say a story couldn’t come from say Schultz or Bradley, that don’t ever have to go into a locker room at all.

Not really
DOB is a shitty beat writer. I can’t stand that guy.

Not what it had to do with this story… I’m not totally sure. But I can’t pass up an opportunity to rag on the DOB.

Before the game Friday I was sitting right at the edge of the Braves dugout. Frank Wren was in the dugout and he and Bobby, along with some other front office guys and coaches, spent about half an hour talking. So, if they’re not on speaking terms, I guess I’m stumped as to what that phrase exactly means.

No
I want Brad Mills or John Farrell from the Red Sox. They win, therefore I want their people!

cause it's been a horrible idea for the Falcons to...
steal from a winner in Boston (Dimitroff).

It's funny
For a team with a GM and manager who apparently hate eachother, the team seems to be playing just fine…
