"Chipper Jones has endured one of the most frustrating seasons of his life. But the Braves third baseman still finds himself just three homers shy of accomplishing something never done before in Major League history.

Jones and Eddie Mathews, who spent the majority of his Hall of Fame career playing third base for the Braves, currently stand as the only Major Leaguers to ever begin their careers with 14 consecutive 20-homer seasons. "By Mark Bowman / MLB.com

I was wondering this morning about Chipper and this record. Logged in to see how close he is and I saw this great article about it.

I hope he can manage 3 more this year.

It would be a silver lining to his frustrating season.

CORRECTION: Will Chipper Do It? He Only Needs 3 2 More.

We sure could use some dingers from the Old Man right about now!

Most illogical….

"My God! Good news fans, the Braves are showing signs of life for the first time in weeks. As a matter of fact, they appear to be beating the crap out of each other."

I haven’t given up on Chipper yet. Can he do it at Home with 7 games left to play?

Gosh I hope so.

If they start walking him intentionally, I’ll just….I’ll just….spit.

Chipper’s running out of games – I sure hope he finds the sweet spot in these next 3.

Last game of the year, Chipper isn’t even in the lineup.
He’s still 2 short to have the record.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look likely.

Chipper had a PH single – but did NOT reach the goal.

Makes me more than sad.
