Atlanta Braves Fan Confidence Poll

If it's Friday, then it's the Atlanta Braves fan confidence poll. This poll and therefore your confidence level should encompasses several areas of the team. These areas include, but are not limited to, the team’s ownership, current management, talent, minor-league system, and general playing ability on the field. The poll will stay open for 48 hours, and then the results will be posted and graphed against the previous weeks.

No doubt many votes will go higher based on the team’s recent winning ways. I’m going in the other direction however. Re-signing Bobby ensures that yet again a lot of close games will be lost next year due to his random lineups, bullpen handling, having his best hitters bunt, and other questionable tactical decisions. As we can see all too painfully right now, those tactical losses add up and can cost you a playoff spot. I’m also concerned about the moves Wren will make in regards to Hudson, Vasquez, Laroche, Heyward, Schafer, and the bullpen. My vote is therefore a 3.

Yeah, I agree. I think Wren will non-tender Huddy, trade Vaz for cash considerations and a PTBNL, let LaRoche walk, send Heyward back to AA, start Schafer in CF again and bring back Reitsma to be the closer. I also voted a 3.

Yeah...

plus I’m pretty sure that now that Frenchy’s proven how good he really is (see Mets message boards), he’ll trade Escobar to the Mets for him.

I don’t get it. I thought you’ve been voting a 7 for the past several weeks. What happened since last Friday that made you lose that much confidence in the ball club?

actually, I have been voting 8s most of the season, and I voted an 8 again today…I was just being a smartass up there.

Possibly

As you and noticed last week, with a winning streak by the big league club being all it requires. Even though the poll is about the status of the organization as whole, there’s a lot of “what have you done for me lately” attitude pervading the poll. As I have for about four weeks now, I voted 8.

We’re currently at 74%, so unless some people are holding their votes until we play the Nats a few times, it looks like we might.

moved my vote from a 7 for the past couple of months to an 8

with the the extension for a last hoorah for Bobby and our current wild card position, i think thats a valid bump.
