Fair question. There are a few reasons.
- I like the Braves. Perhaps they’re not “my” team, but they’re solid, likable guys who do their jobs well.
- I live in Alabama, so the games are televised. I have mlb.tv to watch the Giants, but sometimes it’s more trouble than it’s worth.
- Early bedtime means I miss a lot of West Coast games. Braves games are often the only ones I can watch with great frequency.

although i can’t say i’d follow your logic and become a mets fan… ugh. although i happen to be inferential to the yanks and follow them loosely, they usually become the team i root for in the playoffs unless some cooler team comes around

To be honest, there’s not much logic to it. I picked SF out of a hat, essentially, when I started watching baseball and really clicked with the team and fanbase. The Braves came along later, but I’ve found I like them just about as well.
And for the record, I’m happy to be here. You guys are very cool.

It’s funny – my coworkers pleaded with me to pick a team other than the Giants because I was setting myself up for heartbreak. Sometimes they have been totally maddening, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world. If I were a fair-weather fan, I would’ve been long gone. I stick around for the long haul; it’s in my DNA, I guess.

The news and footage today on the TV was incredible.
Hope she had sunshine like we did, if nothing else just to give her time to patch the roof before the next wave. My work was shut down for the day. Everything seemed ok in my neighborhood, except one house with a flooded basement.

Peter would be my choice as the closer,
