That game

made me feel like sticking a nail in my eyeball. We played like shit.

Well, good season boys. We have a bunch to build on. We’re 5 1/2 out now with 13 games left. Even if we went 13-0, the Rockies, who have 12 left, would have to go 6-6 or worse for us to make it. And that’s assuming the Giants and Marlins go something like 7-5 or 6-6 as well.

Oh well. We have a lot to feel good about in 2010 and beyond. Now I just want the AFL to get here!

Damn!

Top Giants prospect Angel Villalona killed some guy in the D.R. He turned himself in today and could go to prison for 20 years. Sucks to be a Giants fan right now.

Don't fire Bobby.

Sucks to be Angel Villalona.

huh? How about it sucks for the person who was killed and his family.

maybe I missed the internet sarcasm.

My thoughts exactly…

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

I wanted to say that but I felt I would’ve made light of their situation (not that you did or meant to). Having someone in your family die is a terrible experience. Having them killed has to be worse. I felt like it would’ve been a “sucks to be you!” moment and I didn’t want to mock them.

gondee is, of course, referring to

The Battle of the Bulge and the Germans’ request for American forces to surrender at Bastogne.

Or, if he’s not, he should be.

Bingo

That and the utter futility of writing anything about this game.

I should’ve known that from Band of Brothers… fantastic miniseries.

Hey Braves fans im new in here! LOL… unfortunately our season is pretty much over… it sucks for us but we played pretty well but some miscomunication by Cox and Chipper’s slump costed us :S

by Braves from P on Sep 20, 2009 9:13 PM EDT reply actions

I don’t think Cox costed us as much as people say…I think our big hitters costed us more – McCann’s slump and Chipper’s season slump costed us way more than Cox costed us.

13 games left.

We can still pull it out….right?

Might as well keep trying, just to see what happens.

We need 12 or 13 wins to have more than a faint glimmer of a chance.

If it's not over until the fat lady sings....

I think I heard her singing at the end of the game today! Of course, I am just kidding…..LOL

We definitely have to go undefeated to have a chance to make the playoffs. With 10 left against Mets and Nationals (which we should win all of them) and 3 with the marlins i wouldn’t say it is impossible, but the way we have played against bad teams may also come back around.

by BravesFanScout on Sep 21, 2009 1:21 AM EDT reply actions

I can see the headlines now:

“Braves win 10 in a row; fall 1 game short of winning wildcard after getting swept by Nats.”

Yeah, I would probably shoot myself.
