Open Thread: Phillies at Braves

Philadelphia Phillies at Atlanta Braves, Sep 18, 2009 7:35 PM EDT

Tim Hudson and the Braves offense could greatly help out Tommy Hanson's chances to win the NL ROY by beating Happ. These two teams might be the hottest two teams in baseball coming into this series, let's see who survives.

Chipper's back in the lineup.

FYI – Yunel Escobar/Javy Lopez in-store appearance – North Georgia 9/19

I couldn’t find a link to this, so I couldn’t make a fanshot. I’m going to be at the game tonight, too, so I won’t be here to put it in the game thread. Anybody who’s going to be in the thread tonight, please feel free to pass on the info for folks in the North GA area.

Heard a commercial that these guys will be signing autographs tomorrow (Sat.) at the Verizon Wireless store in Gainesville, GA, Regents Plaza from 11-12:30.

Eh

16 games left and a 7.5 game lead? That’s not overconfidence, that’s just knowing you’re over 99% to clinch.

You point out the Mets collapsing, but something like that happens once every 10 years, at most.

Also, don’t get pissed off over a baseball game. It is a game.

WOW

isn’t it awesome how bobby cox decides to use people he hasn’t used in a few weeks in our biggest game of the year? I mean these guys (Nunez, Medlen, Logan) they haven’t been used at least Nunez and Logan haven’t been used in a month. Bobby COX F’ING sucks cock this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously believe he wants to lose games sometimes. I mean These guys should have gotten work in before this game. How about that game last night when we had a nice lead and he still brings in soriano? F’n Stupid!!!!

by BravesFanScout on Sep 18, 2009 10:19 PM EDT reply actions

I’m sure that’s it…he has a deal with the Phillies owners and will get a cut of their profits this season. It makes perfect sense!

isn’t Cox the manager who just had his team on a 7 game winning streak?

I WAN'T saying that seriously

But why would he use these guys in the biggest game of the year, instead of using them when we had games with big leads to get them some work. Instead he throws Moylan, Gonzo, and Soriano out there when we are up by 5 runs anyway. It just seems pretty dumb! Thats probably why Gonzo is hurting right now

by BravesFanScout on Sep 18, 2009 10:23 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t think this is the biggest game of the year.
