Dodgers and Rockies pick up some help with trades
Dodgers got Thome and Jon Garland. Rockies got Jose Contreras
We called-up Conrad, Luis Valdez, and Clint Sammons. I sure hope Conrad gets some of those pinch-hits that Norton has been getting.

We're talking about the Rockies getting Contreras like that hurts our chances?
You mean JOSE Contreras right? … It ain’t 2004 outside, I think we’ll be okay.

Yes. Jose Contreras ins Coors Field. That’ll be as bad as…Jose Contreras in (whatever the hell corporate name they gave to New Comiskey).

It'll be about like the guys facing him
Have the aluminum bat cheat from the old N64 baseball games.
Or that he changed his last name to “Mesa.”

money answer
Contreras only helps if your in the baseball production business. Because he’s going to give up a ton of dingers starting in Colorado.

I think you meant to put "help" in quotes
If Albert played in the AFL, they’d have to rename it the AZ/NM Fall League, based on where his homers landed.

Thome helping a team?
what, as a Hitting Instructor in Extended Spring Training?
wait, we’re talking ON THE FIELD?
this isn’t 2002.

apparently
He’s gonna pinch hit a lot. All i know is that if they go to the WS they will have a crazy lineup with Thome as a DH

thome as a PH
is help. But quotations around “help” in regards to Contreras is accurate.

Hey now, he was a hell of a 3rd baseman on that 1995 Indians team...

as great as that team was… i still maintain the 95 indians was one of the best teams ever…. they were scary good… almost as scary as the 97 indians….
How the hell didnt they win a WS?!

i guess the same way our 1999 and 2001 team didn’t.
Those were both pretty dang good teams too!
Who all was on that 95 Indian’s staff? I remember Orel Hershiser, but that is about it…lol

Orel, charles nagy, and dennis martinez were the notables.. i know it doesnt sound impressive… but remember their lineup
Kenny Lofton
Carlos Baerga
Albert Belle
Jim Thome
Manny ramirez
Eddie Murray
Paul Sorrento
Omar Vizquel
Sandy Alomar Jr.
that’s five potential HOFers (Murray is in, manny, Thome, Lofton and Vizquel are probably stretches… and Belle mighta had a shot if he had remained healthy)

exactly….not to say we were a bunch of slouches… our team was stacked as well… but i think either this team or the 97 indians were the best team to not win the WS…although u are correct the 99 and 01 Braves were really good as well

Well with the trade of Thome, Im thinking that might put a dent in the whole Dye as a FA plan a lot have going around here because they have a pretty big hole at DH for next year
