SPR and Apollo 13 are great movies, but I don’t really consider them great TOM HANKS movies. They are more ensemble movies, with screen time not too focused on any one character. They have great performances from great ensemble casts. The best TOM HANKS movies, as in his best performances, in my opinion, are BIG and Forrest Gump. Maybe Castaway. Not the best movie, but one of his best PERFORMANCES.
