Julio Teheran to join Rome Braves
As if the Braves organization heard us talking about him today, they promoted Julio Teheran from the Danville Braves (advanced rookie level) to the Rome Braves (low-A ball). Teheran will start tomorrow night against Savannah in Rome, Georgia. Exciting times for Braves prospects.

Ahh
its about time.
So, he’ll stay in Rome the rest of the year and then start next season at MB maybe? Or will he continue to pitch in Rome?
P.s. Everyone always says the jump from hi-A ball to AA is the biggest…how much tougher is low-A ball compared to advanced rookie ball?

That’s a good question and I’m not really sure there’s a concrete answer. Obviously, it is tougher, but pinpointing why is hard. I think with any level it comes down to the ability to get away with mistakes. At the lowest levels you can get away with a lot of mistakes, especially as a pitcher, since the players aren’t consistent enough (not that they aren’t good enough, because they certainly are) to take advantage of them every time. Just like how at the highest level you really can’t make mistakes because guys will almost always take advantage of them.
The reality is that the only difference between rookie ball and the major leagues is consistency. The big leaguers can do it every day, every play, the rookie ball guys can do it sometimes, some days. So the step from Rookie ball to Low A probably isn’t really that huge, except that a few more of Teheran’s mistakes will be capitalized on. That’s how a guy is able to move up the ladder, by limiting the number of mistakes he makes.

It is a very good thing that they are so carefully istening to us, but he ain’t exactly the only prospect we were discussing today.
yeah
I’d prefer a title of:

How do you figure?
He did one season at Danville (this was Teheran’s second), then Rome and Myrtle in his second year. Teheran’s behind schedule, it would seem.

He is there for a second time not because of his ability but because of injury is what i understood.

This is really exciting. We’ve all followed this young guy for what feels like a long time now. I really hope he continues to dominate.

I stated this one before but....
He was actually going to start the year in Rome but he had some shoulder soreness in the spring and he started the season in extended ST. Just think if it wasn’t for the shoulder soreness he could possibly be looking at a promotion to MB!
