Looks like they'll use him in the bullpen.

He's been in the pen for about a month in AAA.

They wanted his arm in the majors helping however he could. And he will. He’s that good, folks.

I really like this way of introducing pitchers, whether potentially a starter or relief p, to the bigs…

A man walks into a meat shoppe and goes to the counter. The cashier asks, "Thinking about buying some meat?". The man replied, "No, I'm going to buy meat, I was thinking about punanny."

The kid IS filthy

but right now he profiles more as a Carlos Marmol/Robinson Tejeda clone. I completely agree that moving him to the pen in his first exposure to the majors is the smart thing to do and as a reliever I share your enthusiasm as to how good he can become. He is one of my favorites also but I don’t think it’s fair to say he’s that good just yet.

makes me sick with envy

do you think he’ll be a better pro than Andrus? I think we all can agree that Salty may not be as much of a stud as some thought when he was with us.

Depends on how you value guys at idfferent positions..

If he can become a top-30 starter, I’d say he’s more valuable than Andrus, who I see as a top-10 SS.

And the numbers:

He has a 2.16 ERA in 12 relief appearances with 20 strikeuts, three walks and 10 hits allowed in 16 2/3 innings out of the bullpen

It had been discussed long term...

That’s where the Rivera comparisons came from.

If he had stayed with the Braves, he’d pitch well for a year and a half then have TJ and never be the same. Bobby kills relievers.

Geez

Texas absolutely killed us on this deal.

damn it this trade still pisses me off

He struck out the side, and hit 101 multiple times.

FML right?

What a horrible trade to end a career on.

It wasnt a bad trade

It was completely necessary, and we got a year of a very good hitter and defender. Im justing saying how nice it would be to have Feliz right about now.

What was it necessary to do?

Just asking.

That could have been done a LOT cheaper.

yeah, and we coulda probably done it without giving up a future closer, a helluva defensive SS and a couple other prospects.
