"Chipper continued to struggle, going 0-for-4 to make him 1-for-28 with one RBI in his past nine games."
From DOB's blog.
Oh, and that 1 hit in his last nine games, went about 5 feet.
It took us 2 1/2 months to rid ourselves of blackholes in the lineup (FYF, Schafer and KJ), and now we have another gigantic hole in the #3 spot. Jesus Christ, we need to bench him to get his hands/thumbs/oblique/foot/whatever the hell is wrong with him better. Start Prado at 3B, KJ at 2B and Infante or Church in CF. Anything is better than Chipper right now.

He needs his Dad to fly in from Texas
since that seems to be the only one Chipper takes batting instruction from. He hasn’t had a slump this bad so far. He keeps talking his mechanics are off, he’s 37 years old I would have thought he’d have that figured out by now. If his mechanics do need to change from what he has done before the Braves don’t have the time spend while he firgures it out. I don’t believe Bobby will take him out, I just hope Chipper will take a short break and get his screws tightened up. 1 for 28,Damn! We were lucky we didn’t get shutout last night.

To be fair, his OBP is still over .400
However, I do think that he seriously needs a day off.
I would like to say that I think it is funny that only a few of us notice Chipper’s recent struggles and talk about them, yet everyone still continues to dog two of our best OBP guys of late – Norton and KJ.

He really needs a day off and his OBP has been coming down I believe, although as you point out it’s still pretty high. Getting on base isn’t enough though when you are batting 3rd!

I like Norton and KJ as well. As a pinch-hitter Norton is a real good bet for getting to 1st, KJ not as much last few games but not bad. Have to say the opposing pitchers are still afraid of Chipper, he got an intentional last night.

I think the IBB was more to pitch to Ross (who is struggling) than anything.

Yes, I agree, but they still would rather pitch to someone else. How many times when he was slumping did opposing pitchers walk Chipper to get to a hot hitting BMac? I try to watch every game but recently haven’t been able too. It just seems that every time I can sit down and watch a game they walk Chipper to get to McCann, Am I to far off Justin?

I would bench him until Friday’s game.
