Frenchy out
"Francoeur has a torn ligament in his left thumb, leaving New York without its right fielder and top hitter."
Everyone thinks the worst part about the Mets' season is their injuries, but I think a different part about that statement is MUCH worse.

REMEMBER THAT BOYS.
My god... you poor bastards
I wouldn’t wish Jeff Francoeur being a teams “Top Hitter” on my worst enemy… which is at it turns out the Met’s.
Good lord that is depressing turn of events for the Met’s.

I’d say Luis Castillo is doing better than Francoeur but sadly he could make a legitimate claim to being no. 2 (pun intended)

Since joining the Mets on July 11, Francoeur has been the team’s most productive hitter. He is batting .305 with six homers and 24 RBIs in 39 games. He also has eight doubles and two triples.
It is what it is
Castillo has an OBP over .400 in that time period, Frenchy has the stats that pop out (HR, RBI’s) but that doesn’t make him the better hitter anywhere but in the court of public opinion

He's not a Brave anymore
So why do we keep talking about him? We needed to get rid of him and we did. What I didn’t like about the trade was we sent him to the Mets. Now whether you think RBI’s or HR’s are the best measure of a hitter or not the big Goof is liable to beat us in an important game enough to miss the wild card. I like Bobby Cox but his soft heart has made his head soft,I would have sent Frenchy down to AAA the end of May and put Diaz in his spot.

Believe it or not I’m a Francouer fan,but he’s not on my team now and I’m glad he is doing better. I don’’t think he should have stayed in the Majors past May. I am glad he’s hitting so well, but until he learns the difference between a good pitch and a bad one he won’t be able to keep up his hitting streak. If he could do that,(a big if) he would be an awesome hitter. I hope he does, but not for the damned Mets.
