My view of Gwinnett

Okay, so royhobbs has got me beat as far as stories go.  I really didn't get that many interesting pictures - as I said before, I couldn't get as close as I do in Rome, so I was not happy with what I got.  I did manage a few decent shots of Huddy:

Gwinnett 8-23-09-7">

Gwinnett 8-23-09-3">

And check out the torque on this follow through.  I take it as a good sign!

Gwinnett 8-23-09-15">

Oh by the way, the view from the outfield:

Gwinnett 8-23-09-19">

I think this is Van Pope watching a pop-up:

Gwinnett 8-23-09-18">

A decent contact shot.  Who?  No idea.  If this was last 3 or so years in Rome, I could tell you everything.

Gwinnett 8-23-09-9">

Sammy boy throwing down to second:

Gwinnett 8-23-09-10">

And proof that Brandon Jones hit a bomb.  And squid have attacked Brian Barton.

Gwinnett 8-23-09-27">

And one of my favorite former Braves farmhands, Tyler Flowers.

Gwinnett 8-23-09-13">Gwinnett 8-23-09-29">Gwinnett 8-23-09-14">

And finally, my take on the Cole Armstrong hissy fit:

Gwinnett 8-23-09-23">AUTO_LINK_TOKEN_1_AUTO_LINK_TOKENGwinnett 8-23-09-22">

Gwinnett 8-23-09-24">

(Gotta make the finale big):

Gwinnett 8-23-09-25">

The rumor was that he drew his fist back at the ump.  I didn't see that, so I can't say for sure.

So there you go.  Enjoy!

This is what a real camera can do

I’m envious, really I am. I keep saying that I’d like to get my hands on a particular Canon SLR, but seeing as how I’d pretty much use it for little else other than baseball games and weddings, I’ve always refrained. And as silly as it sounds, with the amount of traveling that I do, sometimes, I just don’t want the paranoia of having to monitor where such an expensive piece of equipment is at all times. It’s a perpetual balancing scale, going back and forth. I guess it’s going to have to boil down to whether or not I can get one for a decent price to make the decision for me eventually.

To bring up something mentioned elsewhere, I’m going to have to agree that I liked Rome over Gwinnett. Much more relaxed, and casual. To reiterate, I think Gwinnett takes themselves too seriously, but I’m not sure if this is just exclusive to them, or if it’s what other AAA level teams do, in the International League. Durham was pretty busy for an MiLB park, but the Carolinas have pretty much nothing else close to major league.

I know that I still want to accomplish my goal of hitting up all 30 MLB parks, but after that’s done, I can’t see myself making too many repeat trips unless convenient, but I’ve looked forward to all of my MiLB excursions thus far, and would gladly go back to those.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Which Canon SLR are you looking to get?

I’m fairly sure that contact shot is Wes Timmons. That’s who it looked like at first glance, and the number curling around the back looks like it could be a 9 from his 19.

Awesome as always, thanks for succumbing to the e-bullying.
