Very entertaining article in today's AJC
Minor pitched two perfect innings with two strikeouts against the Charleston Riverdogs. His showed the control he was drafted for, throwing first-pitch strikes to each of the six hitters he faced, despite not pitching since the NCAA regionals on June 1. Of his 24 pitches, 16 were strikes.
Afterward, he sounded good, too, for a Braves front office looking for a hungry young pitcher.

That was vintage Minor. Everything he throws, moves and hitters have trouble making solid contact. If a hitter has a weak spot, he can hit it. He will not blow anyone away but will give you solid pitching everytime out. He gets in trouble when has a that occasional day that his pitches don’t want to move as much. He can pitch within the strike zone as well as anyone you’ll see.

I'm beginning to understand why we drafted him
The guy’s attitude and work ethic are incredible, so it seems. He had a great outing, yet he knows he wasn’t the best he could be, and he understands that there’s still a lot of work to do to get to the major leagues. I can’t wait to see him progress and I’m sure he’s going to be there behind Hanson and Jurrjens leading the Future Braves.

What a waste of a draft pick. Why didn’t we draft someone who would have cost much more and have been much more risky? This was too safe of a pick. I hate it when we draft a guy who we can sign for cheap and be guaranteed an MLB roster spot.

“/sarcasm” aside (if even possible), the kid does have an interesting background and give a good interview, huh?

I’m not putting any stock into this, Minor was built to dominate the minors. He’s got an advanced idea of what to do as well as good secondary pitches meaning he’ll easily get the lower level guys out. Once he starts facing hitters with strong plate discipline and know what they want to do each at bat, then I’ll give him credit if he succeeds. But him mowing down A ball hitters is not any kind of sign

Wow! You sound like a real fan.
Maybe give the guy they benefit of the doubt until he proves he can’t get guys out instead of expecting him to fail.

I can’t be a real fan because I’m not going to jump on a guy’s bandwagon after one A ball start? I never said I expected failure I just said that let’s see him do it against more talented hitters before we fall in love. Should I blindly support every decision to prove my fanhood? Just because i criticize doesn’t make me any less of a fan, just more of a realist. He’s pitching in the AFL this offseason, so if he can excel there then i will join the minor club but until then count me among those who are very cautiously optimistic
