Open Thread 8/18: Braves at Mets
Atlanta Braves at New York Mets, Aug 18, 2009 7:10 PM EDT
To say that this game and this series is a must-win for the Braves may be a bit of an understatement. With the shape the Mets are currently in, we should absolutely beat the snot out of them.

Lineup
1. O. Infante, 2B
2. M. Prado, 1B
3. C. Jones, 3B
4. B. McCann, C
5. Y. Escobar, SS
6. G. Anderson, LF
7. M. Diaz, RF
8. R. Church, CF
9. D. Lowe, P
This lineup sucks.
Sorry for the lack of analysis, I’m tired of saying the same things over and over again.

OK, a little analysis.
LaRoche should be playing. He is hitting EVERYONE lately, and he definitely has the power to get it out of Citi Field. KJ should be playing. Even though he didn’t hit yesterday, he MURDERS lefties. Does Bobby even look at the splits? This is ludicrous! Omar Infante is not a starting player. He is a super-sub.
Gosh, I feel like I’m babysitting my brother’s kids or something…you no-good sons of 8!+c#3$

If anything,
Chipper should be sitting. It’s his RH swing that’s been giving him discomfort lately. Let him take a day off against a mediocre, depleted team.

Fuck Brett Favre and ESPN
Im so sick of the 24/7 coverage this old, annoying, washed up bum of a QB gets. He was GREAT in the 90’s and early 2000’s…but he shoulda hung ‘em up years ago. He’s an attention wh*re who cant make up his mind.

Worried about a guy who has never thrown a professional pitch? He might be good I’m confident that the jump in hitter talent from NCAA to MLB would light him up.

I’m sure the Mets would hire you. After all, you’re trying to let them win this game tonight.

Not what a supposed "ace" does.
A guy that got a big contract, four years, should have enough mentally to bow his neck and stop a rally before it gets this bad. I realize that all pitchers have bad games, but he has been TOO inconsistent in TOO many of his starts. I would trade him before I would Vazquez, as Javy has been MUCH more consistent than D. Lowe. In a pennant race, with a 4 run lead, an “ace” doesn’t spit the bit like D Lowe did tonight. Pitiful!

What the heck Lowe!
I wouldn’t put all of the blame on Bobby. Lowe is the guy throwing pitches down the middle of the plate. You would think that the guy that we’re paying $10+ million would be able to minimize the damage and give our offense a chance to come back.
http://blabberinbraves.blogspot.com
He’s obviously hurt. The trainer was checking his thumb and he had a liner off his hand. Bobby should have realized that and pulled him
A pinky on your now throwing hand shouldn’t affect your pitching.

Well, that sucked. You know, it was a good game until the pitching and defense, wait, and offense, all decided to shut down all at once. Hopefully, JJ can put a stop to this mayham tomorrow or I wasted some serious cash. either way, we suck, but there is silver lining. Only 4 out of the wild card, so we still have a shot, as long as we decide to play baseball. Hmm, almost like they get paid obsene amount of money to do that.
