Buster Olney muses wildly about the Braves and potential trade partners
If I did this kind of thing I would get lambasted for rosterbating. Most of it is far-fetched. MLBTR has a bullet point recap here.

Anyone see the trading deadline peice in SportingNews?
They say Francouer is the 2nd best available bat on the market after Holliday.
If only that were true
It would be nice if someone was that foolish and we could fleece them for some good players . . .
MWUAHAHAHAH

LOL Olney
It seems like he has absolutely NO idea how valuable or good Escobar is.
Aaron King is still my homeboy... iffy mechanics and all
If Dustin Pedroia played in Seattle, not many people would be talking about him.
GET THAT VORP SH!T OUTTA HERE!!!
Random
These suggestions seem so random. Hart for Vazquez (I would say it would take more than just another piece because there is no way Hart is the centerpiece in a trade for Vazquez.
If he wants to involve the Brewers and Red Sox, why not try this Buster:
Escobar for Baldelli and Buchholtz or Bowden
Then move Vazquez and Francoeur for JJ Hardy or Alcides Escobar, Corey Hart, and a ptbnl
Baldelli is a free agent at the end of the season, so we could let him and GA walk
Buchholtz replaces Vazquez in the rotation, so we are not dependent on Hudson this year
Not sure any of this would actually work, but I’d say it is certainly no more out there than Olney’s rumblings.
the Red Sox wouldnt trade Bucholz for Santana a couple years ago. I dont think he has fallen that far in thier minds. Also, neither Bucholz or Bowden is really ready to pitch in the big leagues. I think both need time to be fully ready (although I am not that closley intwined with the Red Sox system). Regardless Bucholz clearly does not replace Vazquez, Vazquez has an outside shot at the NL Cy Young this year (IMHO).
The Brewers probably wont trade Hardy because Escobar isnt ready to play everyday for the Brewers. So if we trade for Escobar he wont be ready to play everyday for us either. And either way we are downgrading our offense at SS. Ill give you that Hart is an upgrade over FYF… but he is very streaky and our pitching got worse to a larger degree compared to how much our offesne got better.
Is it crazier than Ulney’s ideas…no… is it still unrealistic? yes
Heyward,Hanson, and Shaffer r ready now!! Why do you think they havent signed the "right handed bat"?

I usually like Buster Olney (except for his incessant name-dropping), but he’s off his rocker with his suggestions. None of these moves make any real sense for Atlanta. I think we’re essentially going to have to battle with who we have, because in our financial situation, we simply cannot afford a big bat. I’m also pretty sure we’d like to avoid another rental scenario, which puts Holliday out of reach. Let’s just see what happens when Infante comes back. And who knows, maybe Kelly’s wrist has been his detriment for most of this season. Let’s let it heal up and have the GOOD problem of having too many quality players to start everyday.

Somebody remind Buster to use the rosterbation thread please....
but seriously should we laugh or be frustrated at the ignorance of this so-called “professional” sports writer???
A man walks into a meat shoppe and goes to the counter. The cashier asks, "Thinking about buying some meat?". The man replied, "No, I'm going to buy meat, I was thinking about punanny."

Well
That was almost all foolishness.
It would be lovely for us to get a bat from somewhere but i dont know where it will come from.
I think
that fatazfoot could come up with better trade proposals than those!
