Why would we trade Yunel? Who would fill his spot?

by blitzerlover on Jul 4, 2009 12:33 PM EDT up reply actions

Diory ha who knows if Wren trades Escobar he is an idiot, but then again he did bring Javy here on a great deal, and he did get JJ here on next to nothing. Never mind the man is brilliant and what ever he wants to do I am behind.

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 2:29 PM EDT reply actions

Just got here, been motrcyling on this beautiful day!

But speaking of the Esco trade, I haven’t read the article, but I do know Bobby does not care for him, because of all he said when he benched him. I also know Chipper does not care for him because of something he said on a TV special with a few of the players. Chipper was ask which player would he least want to be stranded on an Island with,
he quickly said Yunel. When ask why, he said " he drives me crazy, talking all the time, and not listening when he needs to be!" Chipper and Bobby are joined at the hip, and think more old school, and Esco does not fit that mold.
I have been looking for him to be traded ever since the benching.
Not saying I like it or not…….

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Lol the strike zone against Chipper is tiny

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:03 PM EDT reply actions

If it’s a strike Mr. Jones will swing at it.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Lannan

Looking like a left handed Lowe

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:03 PM EDT reply actions

ok, it can’t get a hit every time.

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:07 PM EDT reply actions

he doesn’t look like a BB player to me.

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:10 PM EDT up reply actions

Gonzo’s stuff isn’t there today, not much life in the fastball and the slider looks a little flat

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:09 PM EDT reply actions

well hopefully he can be a closer and close out this inning

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:10 PM EDT up reply actions

what the heck kinda pick off throw was that

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:09 PM EDT reply actions

what ever happen to pitchers finishing off a game…hanson could have gone pitch the 8th

by sepulcher on Jul 4, 2009 3:10 PM EDT reply actions

105 pitches, he’s young, gotta pull him

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:11 PM EDT up reply actions

hes a rookie

they are being cautious with him

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:11 PM EDT up reply actions

He already had thrown more than 100 pitches. He’s young. We don’t need to kill his arm.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:11 PM EDT up reply actions

bobby

should have brought in moylan

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:11 PM EDT reply actions

BP makes me nervous with just 2 run lead!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:11 PM EDT reply actions

Gonzo

Walks Bard. 1st and 2nd None out

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:11 PM EDT reply actions

and we know Gonzo isnt a GB pitcher

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:12 PM EDT up reply actions

Moylan might have been a better choice

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:12 PM EDT reply actions

God, he walked him!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:12 PM EDT reply actions

A hit scores at least one!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:13 PM EDT reply actions

Moylan time please, walk Johnson to set up the Vidro

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:13 PM EDT reply actions

Ugh.

"I bought a scratch-off ticket, but then I accidentally spilled some cortizone cream on it, so it did not need to be scratched."

by !Vive la Francoeur! on Jul 4, 2009 3:16 PM EDT reply actions

I hope he has it today, just never know with him!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:17 PM EDT up reply actions

If Hanson gets this game screwed away from him I’m going to be pissed.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:16 PM EDT reply actions

What can we expect, guy is coming off Tommy John and has a shitload of appearances

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:16 PM EDT reply actions

Gamecast has balls 2, 3, and 4 in the strike zone though.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:17 PM EDT reply actions

And ball 1 for that matter.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:17 PM EDT up reply actions

3 was certainly a strike to me, but ball 4 was a ball

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:18 PM EDT up reply actions

2 and 4 look iffy. 1 was def a strike.

"I bought a scratch-off ticket, but then I accidentally spilled some cortizone cream on it, so it did not need to be scratched."

"I bought a scratch-off ticket, but then I accidentally spilled some cortizone cream on it, so it did not need to be scratched."

by !Vive la Francoeur! on Jul 4, 2009 3:17 PM EDT reply actions

Moylan should have been in this inning in the 1st place.

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:18 PM EDT reply actions

Evryone hold on to your butts.

"I bought a scratch-off ticket, but then I accidentally spilled some cortizone cream on it, so it did not need to be scratched."

by !Vive la Francoeur! on Jul 4, 2009 3:19 PM EDT reply actions

He got the grounder, but if found a hole, not much you can do there

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:20 PM EDT reply actions

Fuck you Gonzalez. You stupid fucker.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:20 PM EDT reply actions

yup

because he hasn’t been great all year for us

by was385 on Jul 4, 2009 3:23 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t care what he did yesterday or a week ago. Today he sucked balls. It’s his job not to suck.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:24 PM EDT up reply actions

I love

rational people like you

by was385 on Jul 4, 2009 3:26 PM EDT up reply actions

Forgive me for expecting a man getting paid millions of dollars to do his job. It would have been different if they had hit the balls he threw, but he walked 2 guys. That’s crap.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:28 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm pretty sure he has done his job this season

getting knocked around is part of the game. If he did this all the time then you’d have a point, but he doesn’t, so you really dont.

by was385 on Jul 4, 2009 3:31 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m pretty sure I do. My point is that he was complete shit today. If you don’t believe me, look at his line.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:32 PM EDT up reply actions

No shit. That doesn’t change what I’m saying.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:36 PM EDT up reply actions

calm down buddy, it's a message board

btw, McCann failed miserably at his job today because he is payed a lot to hit and he is batting .000 today. MISERABLE!!!!

by was385 on Jul 4, 2009 3:42 PM EDT up reply actions

He had one chance to hit. He played no innings in the field. You’re just throwing up dumb stuff now.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:43 PM EDT up reply actions

it’s those freaking 4 double plays we should have cashed on

by sepulcher on Jul 4, 2009 3:20 PM EDT reply actions

WHY DID YOU TAKE MOYLAN OUT!?!?!?!

by Zeus12888 on Jul 4, 2009 3:23 PM EDT reply actions

Well shit, that was one hell of a bullpen implosion

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:23 PM EDT reply actions

Hanson

Feeling the pain that all the other starters have felt

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:23 PM EDT reply actions

He just got butt fucked.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Walks kill that;s for sure!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:23 PM EDT reply actions

Let’s trade for a reliever, so we don’t have to send Gonzo and Soriano out everyday

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:23 PM EDT reply actions

Or call up Valdez

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:24 PM EDT up reply actions

no.

He isnt that stellar outside of ERA.

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:25 PM EDT up reply actions

I actually

said that before. But of course i got disagreement all around

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:24 PM EDT up reply actions

I agree...

they can’t keep using the same 4 relievers (Moylan, O’Flaherty, Sorian, & Gonzalez) almost everyday & expect them to stay sharp each time. Fatigue will set in.

by frozen rope on Jul 4, 2009 3:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Find a team that will take KJ for a Reliever.

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:29 PM EDT up reply actions

FUCK YOU BULLPEN!

by ccarr25 on Jul 4, 2009 3:25 PM EDT reply actions

Still only 1 out. Goddamnit.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:25 PM EDT reply actions

Enjoy the win Nats, it might be the only one this week

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:25 PM EDT reply actions

What about letting Medlen come in in these tough spots, he rarely gets any work.

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:26 PM EDT reply actions

or

we could send him down to continue develop as a starter. and then bring in a good reliever from somewhere.

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:27 PM EDT up reply actions

anything is better than this, we NEED this game!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Time for our first big comeback! woo nats pen!

by Zeus12888 on Jul 4, 2009 3:30 PM EDT reply actions

GA was hustling down that line!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:33 PM EDT reply actions

fuck we needed the leadoff man

by carolinabrave89 on Jul 4, 2009 3:33 PM EDT reply actions

Nice patience by Esco!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:35 PM EDT reply actions

by carolinabrave89 on Jul 4, 2009 3:35 PM EDT reply actions

WALKS KILL! FUCK THEM UP

by Zeus12888 on Jul 4, 2009 3:35 PM EDT reply actions

YESS

they are having an implosion!!!

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:35 PM EDT reply actions

Ok no swinging until he can prove he can throw strikes

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:36 PM EDT reply actions

Let this Guy walk in a run, he’s not throwing strikes!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:36 PM EDT reply actions

We really should send Medlen down in exchange for Valdez, so Medlen can get some starts

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:36 PM EDT reply actions

and we can get a set up man

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Mac Hitting!!

Now thats a sight for sore eyes!!!

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:37 PM EDT reply actions

Heap pinch hit please

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:37 PM EDT reply actions

Walk Mac. I think Conrad has a grand slam in him.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:38 PM EDT reply actions

CRAP!!!

WE FAIL!!

GONZO FIRED!!!

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:41 PM EDT reply actions

Well that sucked. Thanks for the loss Gonzo.

by BullManUGA on Jul 4, 2009 3:41 PM EDT reply actions

Guy has 42 appearances, thanks Bobby, Gonzo is coming off Tommy John

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:42 PM EDT up reply actions

first lets call up Valdez

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:43 PM EDT up reply actions

Where is he now? Good closer?

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Thanks, gonna check him out!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Im not sure

That he would be that big of an upgrade. we need another shut em down type. It would have been nice to work a deal with Colorado for Street and Hawpe

by drumzalicious on Jul 4, 2009 3:47 PM EDT up reply actions

He would help, might not be the final solution, but an upgrade, plus Medlen needs to get starts.

by MatM on Jul 4, 2009 3:50 PM EDT up reply actions

He’s got a nice line, couldn’t hurt to give him a shot, he couldn’t be worse than what we have!
Recovering arms being used toooooooooo much!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:53 PM EDT up reply actions

why cant we ever beat the nationals?

by carolinabrave89 on Jul 4, 2009 3:43 PM EDT reply actions

Games like this are why I’m not drinking the “we’re back in it” Kool-Aid just yet.

by redwards95 on Jul 4, 2009 3:44 PM EDT reply actions

Terrible loss.

instead of 500, not so much.

by oVecKid on Jul 4, 2009 3:51 PM EDT reply actions

Met and Phils just coming on here

I think I’ll watch and see who beats who. Too bad they can’t both lose!

by HEYJUDE on Jul 4, 2009 3:58 PM EDT reply actions

Cox

One of the problems with Bobby is that he don’t know when to pull the trigger on his pitchers…Year after year I watch him leave pitchers in too long and pull pitchers when he should leave them in….I guess if he don’t know by now, then he’ll never learn….Come on Bobby!!!!!

Roll Tide Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Sabanholic on Jul 4, 2009 7:57 PM EDT reply actions

Yep. He’ll never learn. I remember hating how he used the bullpen from the very beginning of the streak. It’s not an accident that the Braves would get to the postseason every year than more often than not lose when somebody hit a homerun off a reliever late in some decisive game.
