T-Flow in Birmingham
For those who are interested, my family and I had the opportunity to go to Birmingham to see the Barons play the Mobile Bay Bears. The point of the trip was to see one of our favorite former Braves farmhands, Tyler Flowers. We weren't disappointed: Tyler hit a double and threw a guy out trying to steal. He also got a guy out in a run down, which is always fun to see. Flowers was one of the nice guys on the 2007 Rome team - good player, good with the fans. I personally hated to see him go for JV, but I'm a realist - McCann had Flowers blocked, and we got a heck of a pitcher in return. Great trade for both parties, in my opinion.
Because Birmingham isn't a Braves affiliate, I won't post everything from the trip. I will say that the Birmingham stadium looks like a flying saucer on the outside and nothing spectacular on the inside. I've been to several minor league parks, and this one is my least favorite. Well, Savannah is worse, but this one wasn't great. Just kind of dull.
Anyway, three shots of T-Flow for old time's sake. He's going to the futures game in St. Louis, by the way. He made the Southern League all star team, but he'll go to St. Louis instead.

Great pics as always! Didn’t know Birmingham wore red jerseys…I’ll never understand all the stuff minor league teams do to try to sell a few more t-shirts or hats.

It's about time
You started posting your minor league experiences for this season. You have a lot of catching up to do!
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
Nothing like a Minor League game
Thanks for sharing, the pics are nice!
I live in Chatt. and we have the Lookouts (LA Minor League team). I love going to the games, especially when the Braves Miss. Minor League team is in town!
It’s nice getting to know the players on a personal level, and follow their path to the Bigs!
These guys will talk to you before the game, if you get there early enough, let you take pics, sign autographs and actually feel honored that you ask for these things.
There’s nothing like a “thirsty thursday” at Grayson Stadium in Savannah. If anyone is ever down here and wants to go to a game, hit me up. The Rome Braves come to town at the end of August if I’m not mistaken.

Sorry you didn’t like Regions Park…I agree though, it is nothing special. It is pretty old, and although they just did some renovating a few years ago and the scoreboard is new, it is still just very plain. It is sort of a shame, because that is where the SEC baseball tournament is held every year and you would think they would have a bit nicer of a park.
