I don't think it's a problem to promote them
the biggest thing that hurts prospects when they move up is plate discipline and that is a strength of both. The power numbers may go down but I don’t think they will be overmatched in Mississippi because of their strong discipline.
Gotta keep cutting down on the Ks… He seems to have totally changed his approach in June so they aren’t going to move him right now. Plus, he’s gotta hit two more HRs so he can break the team record.
Q: If on-base pct is so important then why don't they put it on the scoreboard? -Failcoeur
A: Because the Braves don't want to show their fans how bad you suck.
This is wonderful
I totally was denied the chance to see Heyward at the Beach, it looks like I’ll get another shot at Mississippi.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
I just missed him by ONE DAY...
Grr. Glad I went down to a game earlier in the season.

One step closer...
to sending Francoeur out the door.
Now I can go see them play.
Only a 2 hour ride up to see them.
The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb

Im kinda torn
I just feel as though both of these guys could have chilled out in Single A Ball for a while longer.
I hope the organization isn’t rushing Heyward so that they can put Frenchy out the door faster.
Also why didnt they promote Johnson?
I understand the K’s but the dude has been a monster. It’s like he is a baby Dunn and they are trying to make him not be a baby Dunn. sometimes you just gotta take what the player is and capitalize on it.
Heyward is going to rush himself anyways. Freeman you might could make that argument for, but Heyward was one of the better hitters on the team in ST. I mean how many of our starters did he take deep in intrasquad games?
Johnson has to improve his contact rate, and his numbers over the last month suggest he’s going with a very different approach, so they’re taking it slow with him. Plus he has to hit like three more homers to erase Mike Hessman’s names from the Myrtle Beach record books.

go look at Dunn's minor league strikeout numbers
not even close to as high as Johnson’s. That’s why they aren’t promoting him. Because when you strike out this much at a low level, you’re probably going to get absolutely picked apart by more advanced competition. Johnson really isn’t all that good of a prospect.
I don't know if that's fair...
A guy with that much power at this age has a decent chance to be something, if not an All-Star.

There’s no rushing involved, it’s not like they’re expecting them to be in the majors at the end of the year. It’ll be good to see what they can do against slightly tougher pitchers.
The good news is, I can go see them play whenever Mississippi comes to town to play the Lookouts… I haven’t been to one of their games in years.
I was thinking the same thing. I can see them when they play the Lookouts,as I live in Chattanooga also!
I am happy for all of them!
