Atlanta Braves Fan Confidence Poll

If it's Friday, then it's the Atlanta Braves fan confidence poll. This poll and therefore your confidence level should encompasses several areas of the team. These areas include, but are not limited to, the team’s ownership, current management, talent, minor-league system, and general playing ability on the field. The poll will stay open for 48 hours, and then the results will be posted and graphed against the previous weeks.

Poll
On a scale of 1-to-10, with 10 being "100 percent confident," and 1 being "no confidence at all," how confident are you in the Atlanta Braves organization?

6 again, but more solid than last week. I’m still concerned about the overall depth in the minors due to trades and suckage, and the offense and/or bullpen could still use some help. But overall, things are looking better than in June.

Time to go to work and live up to our awesome potential.

I keep voting 8 because we have a young team with huge potential in a couple of years. This season would be a bonus as far as I’m concerned. We’re definitely headed in the right direction. Hopefully we’re able to find a good manager as it appears the Cox era is coming to an end.

I still say that Bobby will be manager as long as Chipper is playing. So I think he’s got a few years left.

Maybe not...

Chipper would be a great tool during the transitional period for a new manager coming in.

I hope you’re wrong. Bobby is a terrible tactical manager. His misuse of the bullpen, ill conceived lineups, and infatuation with Francoeur may end up being the difference between the Braves finishing first or 3rd. I’m sure his being a “player’s manager” partly counterbalances his tactical mistakes, but if there were some way to quantify managerial ability, I’d bet that he has a negative value over replacement manager. I hope he decides on his own to hang them up after this season and move back into the front office.

Pretty incredible, then, the success he's had.

7. We’re still six games out, but from an organizational standpiont, it’s hard not to be optimistic. Wren just pulled an absolute grand theft trade of Francoeur for Ryan Church, and we’ve got Heyward and Freeman terrorizing AA pitching.

The only things holding us back right now are Chipper’s slump and Gonzo’s elbow (though FUGA’s .311 OBP is an eyesore now that we don’t have Francoeur’s .289 in there). We’ll be in good shape if can just beat the teams we’re supposed to, like the Mets in this series.

Our long nightmare is over as Wren not only got rid of Francoeur but dumped him on the Mets and got Ryan Church in return. That’s good enough to bump my rating up to an 8 for a week or two. If the Braves can improve their standing in the East the next 2 weeks, I hope Wren will find one more bat and another reliever.
