Cardinals DFA former Braves pitcher Blaine Boyer

First Wilson Betemit, now Blaine Boyer. This must be the day to DFA former Braves. It's sad to see a great guy like Boyer struggle like this. At least we got one good year out of him in '05, and at least we got a warm body in return this year.

little surprising

He pitched 5 innings last night after Lohse went down in the 2nd. Gave up 4 hits, 1 walk and 1 ER. Really not a bad outing, I wonder why they cut ties now.

Yeah, he hasn't been terrible in the last week...

But they needed a spot for a young RP they want to bring up, and he has been bad for most of the season.

well Frank Wren got the good end of YET ANOTHER DEAL! we get “Crabman” who is now in the bigs, and i can see spot starting and pitch running alot (if he stays in the bigs) and even the Cards wont keep Blaine, i’m sure he’s a great guy and all, but he just aint been the best of a pitcher lately, hopefully he’ll get it together soon

I don’t think the magician Dave Duncan was given enough time to work with Boyer. This demotion is really going to hurt him, because Duncan can turn anyone from Braden Looper to Adam Wainwright into bonafide capable talent. It looks more like a desire to bring up Jess Todd.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
