Regarding Garret Anderson...from a Braves fan
I asked Halos Heaven about Garret Anderson and his lazy and apathetic demeanor on the field. Here are their responses...

lol… a lot of good lines in there.
looks like a mixed bag of opinions, but the predominant belief seems to be that while he’s as lazy as marty feldman’s left eye, he has his moments of productivity with the bat (some of the posters refer to his “good instincts defense”, which i have yet to see) — i guess this is how i’ve settled it personally as well. still, it would be nice if every once in awhile he were too lazy to swing and take a damn walk instead.

Those instincts (or at least his ability to act on them) could have worn down with age?

definitely… we should find footage of a young GA. that would be interesting/weird to watch.
but sometimes he seems to be in a good position to act on good instincts, yet fails… such as making a throw to the correct cut off man, choosing the correct angle to the ball. but all of these things could have something to do with getting used to new ballparks as well.

Comments to the effect of:
He doesn’t do XYZ because he already knows he can’t, is really a cop-out. Just because he knows he can’t get to balls that, say, Matt Diaz could easily get to (while taking a proper route), doesn’t mean that he’s still a good defensive player, if he ever was.
His bat is still essentially there — in early May I was one of the very few arguing to give him some AB’s before writing off his offensive skills completely, and got skewered for it at the time. It’s not like he’s Babe Ruth now, but at least he’s been much more serviceable lately. Supposedly, he’s a “2nd half player”, if such a thing exists, so perhaps the best is yet to come!

You and your rationale thoughts have no place on this board!

Yeah, because we prefer rational thoughts anyway. ;)

lol
As long as he keeps hitting doubles, he can set up a hammock in left field, for all I care. McLouth is the Flash.

Nice post
I was thinking the same thing watching that double get past him last night, amazing Jeter didn’t make it to 3rd.
If Dunn walks 30 fewer times, he'll drive in 15 more runs. This is thanks to the scientifically proven formula: RBI = (this is nonsense) (I made it all up).
Here's a stat: Wins as manager: Dusty Baker, 1,162; Bill James, 0.
