More than once when I've been talking to Moore has he alluded to Francoeur as an example of a successfully-developed player. (He's not.) Needless to say, given the Royals hacktastic ways, Francoeur is absolutely the last player they need to acquire. But if it could get Jose Guillen off the books ... then maybe you do it anyway.

However, just about any other scenario involving the acquisition of Francoeur would not sit well with me. At all. There is no reason to rant about something that hasn't happened. But if it does ... be ready for a serious blowup.

A Royals beat writer on Jeff Francoeur
I seriously doubt any "major league" team is insane enough to take Francoeur without giving us something equally appalling in return.

Guillen’s numbers aren’t enough of an improvement over Frenchy’s to warrant this trade. Guillen is much older and more expensive. Doesn’t make sense.

I disagree.

I assume that you’re looking at his HR and RBI totals, which you shouldn’t be, because Guillen is having a far more productive offensive season than FYF. It’s not enough to make it worth the money, but don’t make it seem like the two are close…because they really aren’t.

When you include defense, they’re both having equally horrific years so far.

I’m sure that’s the case, but I was merely talking about offensive production because I’m assuming that’s what Fischerking was talking about.

I disagree as well.

I just dont want us paying 12 mil for the guy tho

Fuk just send him down to AAA. Guillen would be a big upgrade over Frenchy, and so would diaz, because when diaz strikes out with the bases juiced he at least blames his self. Guillen is to expensive though and this deal makes no sense at all for the Braves. I don’t no why this is even being suggested because the Braves have no extra money.

its from the Royals perspective

The writer is a Royal beat writer. Frank Wren has stated that the Braves can’t take on payroll. This won’t happen. I hope that FW simply sends Frenchy down to AAA, bring on Brandon Jones…

haha I don’t like that “equally appalling” comment.
