NAHWAL 6/19/09 - Braves @ Red Sox

After a one day reprieve, NAHWAL is back! Hooray! Yeah, I just totally forgot last night. Oh well, its just one day...but man, some of you really take your NAHWAL seriously, don't you? Christ people, its just a game for some crappy prizes. Chill out.

1) Attendance

2) Pick to click

3) How many times will Jeff Francoeur swing the bat during an at bat?

TWO BONUS POINTS TO THE FIRST PERSON TO GET THIS QUESTION RIGHT: why should the 19th be a national holiday?

3. 5? I agree I don’t understand the question.

The Garfield comic strip debuted on this this day in 1978? It’s probably the Gehrig thing but it was the most interesting thing I found

Because it is your birthday. I stated it, so that means I’m first, right?

I agree with bigjoe, calm down folks. Not only is is a game for crappy prizes, but crappy prizes that you won’t get, as evidenced by the empty spot in my trophy case.

Let the record show that in the gamethread yesterday, I had Hanson as my P2C…if I lose by 1 point again this week, I will go on a postal-worker-esque rampage.

The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb

I was obviously being a wise ass, my -20 answer being the key clue.

Pwned, I was too tired to look it up! Little sis flew in last night & haven’t seen her in a year, plus packing for beach trip.

MLB Tonight broadcast

Greg Amsinger: “Would we be talking more about Kenshin Kawakami if he’d signed with the Yankees or Red Sox instead of Atlanta?”

Tom Verducci: “Yeah, obviously.”

MLB Tonight is usually pretty balanced too…well, more balanced than shithead ESPN is. Only one of Tommy Hanson’s start has been shown on the east or west coast prime time sportscenters. And the only one they showed was him getting raped by the Brewers.

I wonder if they’ll show the one tuesday against the Yankees?

u puttin mine in right, bigjoe………………………

btw, im going to the bulls game tonight (camp outing where im working) and ill try and brinhg back some pics

Baseball is a game where a curve is an optical illusion, a screwball can be a pitch or a person, stealing is legal and you can spit anywhere you like except in the umpire's eye or on the ball.

Starting pitcher, an attendance pick that doesn’t matter, and a number I’m not gonna remember. Got it.

by bigjoe on Jun 20, 2009 12:34 PM EDT up reply actions

Attendance was 37,703 (102.1% full). NOTE THE CAPACITY FOLKS PICKING MORE THAN 40,000. Point goes to longshotsmith

Picks to click were Kawakami, Anderson & McLouth. Points go to dc_allday, esadb, mvhsbball, Little Lady, justincredubil02, traphicg, longshotsmith, sexbobomb, GoBravesNY, Walking Spanish, BigG1392, BravesRaleigh, HEYJUDE & armymen

The answer to my horribly confusing question was 4 swings. He fouled a ball off his first at bat, and had no other fouls or swings & misses the rest of the game, and his final 3 at bats all ended with him swinging the bat. Make sense? Points go to Bravely going forward, 10-4, and Walking Spanish.

BONUS POINTS go to mvhsbball and Lizziebeth
