Game 27 Recap: Braves 8, Marlins 6
Waddayaknow, a win! Color me excited. It wasn't necessarily a pretty win, but a win nonetheless. Every time I turned on the game bad things would start happening, so I chose not to watch... you're welcome.
Of course, all of our runs came off a rookie who obviously wasn't on his game. After that, our offense regressed to below mediocre. I love all the comments from players in the official recaps saying how "maybe this is what's needed to get the bats going." Look, anyone can hit bad pitching, and we proved that, but when the good pitching got in the game we were once again helpless.
Not to rain on the win here, but we're still three games under .500. I'll be impressed when we're three games over .500 and playing consistently good baseball.

The bullpen impressed me though, gotta give them that. 4 shut out innings from 4 different pitchers. I was even impressed by Buddy, the way he got out of some major trouble (even though he put us into that trouble). It was nice to just have a win..
And Gonzo striking out the side against the top of the order AGAIN, awesome!

Props to Garret for his first 3 RBIs as a Brave.
May they be his last. :)

Eh, 3 RBIs, so what. He didn’t even look like he cared.
And that over run ball in the outfield ended up costing the Braves 2 runs. Glad we had such a big lead to begin with.
Braves hitters were patient with the rookie pitcher which was good to see since he couldn’t locate the strike zone.
Yunel better be glad Chipper drove in two runs with the bases loaded too. Yunel swung at the first pitch and popped out. The pitch was high and inside, so I’m not sure what the hell he thought he’d do with it. I’d love for the Braves to start fining players for swinging at first pitches. I’m not against swinging at the first pitch, but I think when you are in such a funk that the Braves are in, the players should really work the counts for the opposing pitchers.
