Neither Hanson nor Medlen started this game for the Braves so they did not win. Diory Hernandez raised his AVG to .423 and has 11 hits in his last 18 at bats. He has just been on a ridiculous tear lately and he even has a 4:5 BB:K rate. Impressive all around.

Montgomery 3, Mississippi 2

Deunte Heath might be the most Jekyl/Hyde player I have seen since Good/Evil Davies. And its not even from start to start. He can do it from inning to inning. Tonight's start was probably his best of the year (two starts back was really good too) from his control standpoint, since that is where he always struggles. Right now his ERA is 1.29 and if he keeps this up through the halfway point of the season he could jump into my top 20. We shall see.

Salem 10, Myrtle Beach 4

Jon Owings is one of these guys who has been around for a while now and just kind of puts up solid numbers where ever he goes, but never anything spectacular. He puts up his fair number of Ks and doesn't walk much but he has a decent amount of pop and really should be in AA this year. I hope they give him a chance because I have always liked him. And how can you not love a DH that gets two triples in one game.

Bowling Green 7, Rome 1

Brett Devall comes out of extended spring training for his first start of the year and he doesn't do great. I'm not too worried about it with the talent this kid has. Paul Clemens was supposed to have the best arm in our draft class last year and yet he continues to get hammered each time out. I wonder if he doesn't have any developed secondary pitches because he has some Ks but has given up 31 hits in 18.2 innings. Not good. He also has walked 13 guys too.
